Missing my grandfather - Captain Louis Cordeiro. Not a day goes by that I don't think of our time out on the water together, pulling lobster traps, hand-line fishing, and that one time the Boston fast ferry almost took out our boat! lol. It was always an adventure out on the sea with him. I was so impressed with his ability to predict the weather 30 mins before anything would happen. Before I was born, he made his life trap fishing - he and his decknhands would assemble nets into an array of mazes off the East end of the breakwater in Ptown harbor. They would secure them by driving non-rotting Hickory wood poles down into the ocean floor. Once bait was set and the fish found their way into the nets, pulling the nets onboard was next in order. Grandpa was the last trap fishermen to keep his nets in Provincetown harbor. I think of him him everyday. .
