  • On this #selfcaresunday here are some of my favorite bath boosts to make your tub time a little extra special! While I wouldn’t normally recommend most of these items to use on your face, they are perfectly fine used on the body since body skin is thicker & produces oil differently than facial skin. 🛀🏼
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
EPSOM SALT
This salt of the earth is high in magnesium & helps to soothe sore muscles, aches & pains. It also softening to the skin.
〰️Add 2 cups to warm running water & soak for 20.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
COCONUT OIL
By adding coconut oil to your bath it provides a light layer of oil on the skin creating the perfect moisturizing bath for soft supple skin.
〰️Add 1-2 tablespoons to warm running water & soak for 20. (WARNING: tub may be slippery afterward! I recommend spraying with tub cleaner after.)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
ESSENTIAL OIL
A few drops of your fav essential oil for relaxation. I personally love lavender, geranium or roman chamomile.
〰️Add 3-5 drops to warm running water. (It’s nice with Epsom salt too!)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
OATMEAL
This is a nice option for people that have dry, itchy, irritated or sunburned skin since it’s so soothing. Instead of dumping oatmeal straight into the tub, I like to use a nut milk bag that helps you receive the goodness of the oats but won’t be sitting in clumps of oatmeal (it's less messy too!) You can find these on Amazon/health food store.
〰️Dump 1-2 cups of oats in your nut milk bag, tie closure & toss in the tub. Soak for 20.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
BAKING SODA
Surprisingly, baking soda is excellent for your skin when diluted in a bath. It’s soothing and super softening to the skin. It’s also been shown to be great for eczema/psoriasis. Did you know it’s one of the main ingredients in bath bombs?
〰️Add 4-5 tablespoons to a warm bath & soak for 20 mins.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
MILK OR COCONUT MILK POWDER
Milk contains lactic acid which is part of the AHA family & lightly exfoliates the skin as well as acts as a humectant attracting water to the skin. If you prefer not to use dairy, coconut milk powder is a fantastic sub! It’s softening & hydrating as well.
〰️Dissolve 1 cup of milk or coconut milk powder to your bath & soak for 20.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Enjoy! 🛀🏼

  • a Friday skincare post! 🤩 you guys voted on my story and you wanted to hear all about makeup removal 💋💄 makeup removal should be done prior to cleansing, otherwise the benefits of cleansing are defeated as it is working to remove the makeup, instead of working on balancing the skin, removal of oils etc 💧 so what happens when you don’t remove makeup properly? makeup clogs pores, thus causing breakouts, and very often premature ageing / fine lines 🤡 two methods are common for makeup removal: 1) using cotton pads with liquid makeup remover, predominantly for eye & lip makeup use, then following up with your cleanser, OR 2) using the oil method, where you apply an oil based product all over dry skin, to remove face, eye & lip makeup, the oil is either washed away or cleanser is applied over top 🍃 the best makeup removal process, in my opinion, is on heavier makeup days to remove eye & lip makeup with cotton pads with liquid makeup remover, then follow up with an oil based product for the whole face, wash away or apply cleanser over top, whereas on lighter makeup days the liquid makeup remover can be skipped 🧖🏽‍♀️ as noted in my previous cleansing post, facial sponges 🧽 can be used and I really like to use them to remove the oil based product, helps to speeds up the makeup removal process 🙏🏼 it’s important not to be too rough around the eye area, avoid tugging & hard pressure. for stubborn mascara or eyeliner, use damp cotton buds gently 👁 my product recommendations: @environskincaresa precleanser, @dermalogicasa precleanse or precleanse balm, @thebodyshopsouthafrica camomile cleansing butter, @cliniquesa take the day off balm, @saloncare_sa makeup remover, @garnier_sa micellar cleansing water, @pixibeauty lash nourish makeup remover pads, @iworibeauty marula dual-phase eye makeup remover ✅ (continues in comments) let me know if you have any more makeup removal questions or products you really love! next week’s skincare post will be toning💖

  • So important for therapists to have treatments and experience what their clients are subjected to😩

We had to the some grumbles, some holding onto the couch for comfort, red faces, and a few instructing each other to take care🙈

All put aside they all carried out excellent treatments on each other and models, passed their assessments with flying colors and ended a very busy day with a buzz.
Tomorrow is gonna be fun, over to Lucy for the mesotherapy course.
