  • On this #selfcaresunday here are some of my favorite bath boosts to make your tub time a little extra special! While I wouldn’t normally recommend most of these items to use on your face, they are perfectly fine used on the body since body skin is thicker & produces oil differently than facial skin. 🛀🏼
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
EPSOM SALT
This salt of the earth is high in magnesium & helps to soothe sore muscles, aches & pains. It also softening to the skin.
〰️Add 2 cups to warm running water & soak for 20.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
COCONUT OIL
By adding coconut oil to your bath it provides a light layer of oil on the skin creating the perfect moisturizing bath for soft supple skin.
〰️Add 1-2 tablespoons to warm running water & soak for 20. (WARNING: tub may be slippery afterward! I recommend spraying with tub cleaner after.)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
ESSENTIAL OIL
A few drops of your fav essential oil for relaxation. I personally love lavender, geranium or roman chamomile.
〰️Add 3-5 drops to warm running water. (It’s nice with Epsom salt too!)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
OATMEAL
This is a nice option for people that have dry, itchy, irritated or sunburned skin since it’s so soothing. Instead of dumping oatmeal straight into the tub, I like to use a nut milk bag that helps you receive the goodness of the oats but won’t be sitting in clumps of oatmeal (it's less messy too!) You can find these on Amazon/health food store.
〰️Dump 1-2 cups of oats in your nut milk bag, tie closure & toss in the tub. Soak for 20.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
BAKING SODA
Surprisingly, baking soda is excellent for your skin when diluted in a bath. It’s soothing and super softening to the skin. It’s also been shown to be great for eczema/psoriasis. Did you know it’s one of the main ingredients in bath bombs?
〰️Add 4-5 tablespoons to a warm bath & soak for 20 mins.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
MILK OR COCONUT MILK POWDER
Milk contains lactic acid which is part of the AHA family & lightly exfoliates the skin as well as acts as a humectant attracting water to the skin. If you prefer not to use dairy, coconut milk powder is a fantastic sub! It’s softening & hydrating as well.
〰️Dissolve 1 cup of milk or coconut milk powder to your bath & soak for 20.
