📍 location: somewhere outside most people’s comfort zones.
The greatest experiences, proudest achievements and most valued memories will usually be found here, but it is a place that most people are afraid to tap into.
:: ⠀ ⠀
For me, going on these trips, taking photos on my own, figuring out the business side of things... it was all uncomfortable, and to an extent it still is, but I choose to do what I believe will lead me to something extraordinary every day, and that is found on the road that is most difficult to take on. Take the first leap, and it will get easier from there.

After all, you owe it to yourself to do the things you have always dreamed of, and they start right here. When was the last time you did something that challenged you and pushed you outside of your comfort zone?

“So, what is it like to travel around Tunisia as a female solo traveler?” I heard your questions, so here’s my answer 👇
:: ⠀ ⠀
To be fully honest, I am surprised. Having been to several other countries that are close in terms of culture and geographic location, both solo and with friends or a partner, I was expecting to feel less at ease than I have during the two weeks I have been here so far. Besides from when the photo above was taken, I dressed exactly like I would anywhere else (pants, t-shirts & dresses, sometimes backless, see previous posts), I felt respected and welcomed with an open mind pretty much always.
However my experience varied from the easy-going north, to the little more conservative south where I did get asked if I was a married woman a couple of times (tip: always answer yes 😆). However never did I feel like my personal space was not respected or that anyone was persuasive. Quite frankly, I have felt more comfortable in Tunisia than I felt in some parts of Europe.
:: ⠀ ⠀
Oh an on a side-note, I was warned several times about pickpocketing and theft, but after getting more impressions and local opinions, I feel like this is people genuinely looking out for you instead of there being a serious risk of that happening.
:: ⠀ ⠀
But I’m just one person, so I don’t want to pretend that my experience represents a whole or will reflect how you would feel, but if we’re talking statistics - Tunisia’s crime rate is alongside Sri Lanka’s & Myanmar’s, both popular travel countries that I think people generally don’t worry much about.
To sum it up - I have been loving traveling around this country and I give it a big solo travel thumbs up 👍 ❤️ let me know any other questions below! Andi

Hope you are not tired of the #DeadSea pictures yet, cause this is our favorite series ever! This one perfectly depicts me, running towards 2020 and our next big trip! 😅 Do you already have any travel plans for next year?

To be honest with you, I quite struggle with what to share on this platform. I often feel like there is depth or a bigger purpose that is missing. I have thought about the question of what I want to achieve on here, and a mission to work towards, and while I don’t think I have found a definitive answer yet, knowing that I can bring the world a little closer to those of you watching, is a big part of it.
:: ⠀ ⠀
I believe that the key to happiness and a better world is breaking free of this illusion that we are a separate entity from the world surrounding us, and realizing our unity with it. As new age hippie as that might sound 😉
:: ⠀ ⠀
And this moment from the photo above, meeting up with @chouroukghannem through Instagram in her hometown in Tunisia was another great reminder of that! Talking about our shared passions and finding so many similarities, although we were raised in different parts of the world and leading different lives, we had endless laughter over tea and her teaching me some Tunisian Arabic. It’s those moments of human connection I hope everyone gets to experience in their life, and hopefully I can inspire you to strive towards that too ❤️

This was earlier in the week (miserable and wet today). Oh, how I love frosty mornings! Even when my Mini slides across the country lanes 😬. I’ve been completely overwhelmed by the response to the @youmagazine article - emotionally and practically. Thank you for your messages (which I will reply to!). And thank you for the avalanche of @spotsandstripes orders. We have been wading through them for five days now and they are still coming...whomever said that the press had lost its power to the influencers has obviously never had a feature in You! I’m exhausted but feeling more positive than I have in months. Thank you! #thehatchwilts#thecatinthewindow#littlestoriesofmylife

Happy Saturday friends! 🤗 I hope you’ve been having a great weekend and have spent it well with your loved ones. I have spent it with mine in thought 💭 while I have been back at exploring (+ creating again!) here in Tunisia and it’s been nothing short of an adventure.😁
:: ⠀ ⠀
And as the weekend is coming to an end, so is the sale on my presets! You can still get -25 % off on my editing filters for just a few more hours. And if you don’t know what presets are - they are editing filters that you can simply use on your mobile (and also computer) with one click to edit your photos! These are the filters I use on all of my Instagram photos to bring out what our devices sometimes can’t capture and give a bit more life to what I share, like the lively colors and Sunny effect (that I can proudly say you can only find in my store 😌)☀️
:: ⠀ ⠀
You can find happy customer reviews and before & after editing photos through the link in my bio, so get your own before the sale is over now! 😁 @destinationchaser 👈
I just looked at my phone this morning to check on a package, and realized that as of today it’s been 4 months since *this* package arrived. This is helpful because I can never remember how old she is when people ask (You know those super cute monthly photo series with creative signs displaying the baby’s age. I suppose you can file that under ehh, not happening). -
S and I have been thinking about writing a post together (!) about what we’ve learned over the last couple months with this kiddo - from each of our perspectives. If it ever gets done, big if, I think it’ll be interesting.

[ad] As a kid growing up in the suburban Midwest, I didn't really get to know "the outdoors" beyond my backyard and neighborhood cul-de-sac. I can't say that I had a love for the outdoors or even had much experience with it at all until after college, because I just didn't know much about it. But after my first camping experience watching the stars light up the night sky in Joshua Tree, I knew I had been missing out on something extraordinary for most of my life up until then.
Through my travels, it's become more and more clear to me that I would choose the mountains and the lakes over a bustling city any day. Moving to the PNW has really solidified that for me, and it still absolutely boggles my mind that in less than 4 hours, I can be surrounded by the most beautiful ancient forests, glacier-clad mountains, and pristine Pacific coastline. But that has also made me so much more aware of the responsibility we have to keep these diverse ecosystems here for the next generation of explorers.
So I'm humbled to announce that I am officially partnering with @prAna as a member of their Adventurer Team! I've gotten to know more about the sustainability movement of this amazing brand after bringing them along on my travels through Vietnam and Taiwan, and I'm so excited for what's to come. They've helped me re-evaluate the way I think about clothes, from the materials that create it, to the hands of the people who assemble it. By choosing sustainable or fair trade clothing, I am consciously making a small step towards environmental responsibility and a fundamental change in the way clothing is made.
Because the thing is, small changes CAN make a positive impact. And in the end, we aren't striving for perfection. We're focusing on "purposeful creation and conscious consumption." #ClothingforPositiveChange#prAnaAdventurer#WAFxWashington

All lit up like a Christmas tree 🎄 .
I’m soaking in all the festive vibes as much as possible. Maybe it’s because I know January is right around the corner and that winter here in NYC can seem endless! On that note, can you believe it’s nearly 2020?

Un bon brunch simple pour faire mon travail chez moi à cause de la grève.
Yesterday, we have discovered this wonderful treasury of Petra, the Al-Khazneh with @chiarabarrasso . 🇯🇴Do you know that this building is the mausoleum of an ancient civilization, the Nabatean who lived 2000 years ago?👳🏽♂️. It was a magical moment shared with you❤️

It is currently a winter wonderland at home in Boston so I am definitely day dreaming about the warmer on the Amalfi Coast this past fall!
If you could travel anywhere to escape the winter cold, where would you go?
