Sometimes I grow weary of the days, with all their fits and starts.
I want to climb some old gray mountains, slowly, taking
The rest of my lifetime to do it, resting often, sleeping
Under the pines or, above them, on the unclothed rocks.
I want to see how many stars are still in the sky
That we have smothered for years now, a century at least.
I want to look back at everything, forgiving it all,
And peaceful, knowing the last thing there is to know.
All that urgency! Not what the earth is about!
How silent the trees, their poetry being of themselves only.
I want to take slow steps, and think appropriate thoughts.
In ten thousand years, maybe, a piece of the mountain will fall.”. -Mary Oliver
It’s been a tough transition moving away from home completely. I’ve had mostly good days but I’ve also had some really bad days where I’ve felt super down and have missed my family so much. On the bad days it’s sometimes hard to see the future and to remain positive. All you want is to go home and see your family and dogs. On the bad days it’s hard to see why you moved away and on those days it’s important to remind yourself of your passions. Often times the only way to chase your dreams is to step far outside your comfort zone. Going after the things you truly love is never an easy path. I am incredibly grateful for the people who have made this transition easier. Thank you all. @travelingwithtayj@cdub_bigsky#grizzly#grizzlybear#greatoutdoors#followyourdreams#westyellowstone#montana#idaho#bigskycountry

Getting the legs in shape this time of year is all about being opportunistic with the daylight. Grabbing a quick summit after work is made possible with the right fuel, and I've been choosing CLIF Builders bar with their 20g of plant-based protein to keep my legs under me. New look, but it's the same great bar I've been chomping for years. #clifbarcrew#sponsored@clifbar
It's always an adventure around here and you always have to keep your eyes open.
The dogs smelled this big and beautiful red fox before we saw him. He was very bold and still didn't run off after the dogs were on his trail. He seemed determined to get into the yard. Ryan went back out to grab the steaks we forgot outside and he saw him again in front of the barn!
It just so happens that we have been missing a chicken since last night and I have a feeling he is the culprit. If he is prowling around again tomorrow night he will be in trouble with @frehseofthewild.
Check out my stories to see how we spotted him tonight.
Skiing’s roots in the US are inextricably linked to our Veterans. We are so thankful for their service & love seeing them on the slopes today, like our friend Colonel George. #VeteransDay

“One life on this earth is all that we get, whether it is enough or not enough, and the obvious conclusion would seem to be that at the very least we are fools if we do not live it as fully and bravely and beautifully as we can.”
