Bisque firing today! Not the fullest kiln I’ve ever fired but there are plenty of pots I’m excited about.
Mom news: threw Connor a 3rd birthday party this past weekend. Was supposed to be a casual backyard party. Apparently my husband and I have a hard time with casual. Christmas is almost here...I can’t believe it, another year almost done. I’m going to be honest and say I’m feeling the pressure of next Monday’s update. I’ve got a glaze firing on with lots of mugs and I’m so hopeful they will fire nicely. Here’s one of a newer design, which I’m really pleased with. I should have a few more available plus some starry mugs. Sorry for being a bit quiet on here...I’ve been focusing on making and a few personal things have cropped up causing me to be a little quiet the past few weeks 🙂 but hello! I hope all your Christmas preparations are going well ❤️

The precious things I chose to bring home from London (please tap for more information). Handmade by some wonderful artists which make these extra special to me. I could write so much more about London, this beautiful city, the people I met and the things that inspired me. Sometimes I think a blog would be the thing. Would you read it? 〰️ Hier sind die Kostbarkeiten, die ich aus London mitgebracht habe (tap für mehr Infos). Handgemacht von wunderbaren Künstlern, was sie (für mich) ganz besonders wertvoll macht. Wusstet ihr, wie schnell man von uns aus in London ist? Mit dem ICE/Eurostar sind es nur knapp 4 Stunden bis St. Pancras. Das hatte ich vorher gar nicht auf dem Schirm und nun bin voller Vorfreude, vielleicht schon im nächsten Jahr wieder hin zu fahren. Überhaupt: Dieser Trip nach London war in vielen Belangen eine großartige Erfahrung. Und irgendwie hatte ich auf der Rückfahrt ein bischen Liebeskummer. Ich könnte noch so so so viel mehr schreiben, über London, die Menschen und Künstler denen ich begegnet bin, was mich inspiriert hat und und und. An dieser Stelle denke ich (mal wieder) darüber nach, ob ich nicht ein Blog anfangen sollte. Was meint ihr? In ‘Tools of Self’ these artists are examining the nature of self identity. Using the made object as a conduit or talisman, the artists explore how identity may be built through, and as, the made object.

Inspired by Zen Buddhism, these vessels came about in my exploration of making as a form of meditation.
The surface of the vessels are left unglazed to evoke a raw tactile experience. Suitable for use as a bud vase or simply enjoyed as a sculptural object of contemplation.
Each hand made vessel is stamped with my maker’s mark and numbered out of 150.
