  • ‼️8 MILLION tons of plastic makes its way into our oceans Every Single Year.
.
Every small change counts:
✅Avoid plastic bags, bring reusables or purchase new ones at the store
✅Avoid plastic cups, straws, tops & containers when out in public.
✅Avoid plastic water bottles; reuse one you already have or purchase a reusable one
.
EVERYTHING is loaded with plastic; don’t feel overwhelmed, take small steps & eventually each one will add up to big changes.🚯
.
🙈We have all been so blind to plastic use that when you make these changes & take a step back you’ll really realize just how out of control it is. Guarantee it.

___

And I choose to be on the street🤟🏼 GLOBAL CLIMATE STRIKE, 29 NOVEMBER 2019 HADIR KEMBALI! KAMI SIAP MENGGEMPUR JALANAN LAGI! AYO MUDA-MUDI AMBIL BAGIAN DALAM AKSI KAMI~~ #climatestrike #jedauntukiklim #fridaysforfuture

⠀
⠀

  • In response to her speech at the UN Climate Action Summit, Greta Thunberg was greeted with trolls that poked fun at her accent, motives, and medical condition.

How can a 16-year-old girl make a difference?

The work she has done in the past 2 years proves otherwise. She took a year off from school to travel around the world and open our eyes to the real problem, the unprecedented climate change. Instead of dampening our spirits, she urges us to shift to a sustainable way of living, which she follows.

The Greta effect is everywhere; on the streets, media, and in the parliament! Her words have resonated with the mass. Movies are being made, philanthropists around the world are extending support, politicians have already made it the theme of their campaigns, and the governments are under pressure to respond.

Now, are we too small to make a difference?

Need your helps!🌍]
English below↓↓↓
Hi everyone! Its been a while since i last posted. My freshman year at unimelb is almost over.
Today, I have a favor for all of you, especially people who currently live in Japan. One of my teacher from my high school puts his all efforts to warn the effects of climate change. This year, a biggest typhoon attacked central Japan such as Tokyo and Chiba. This caused tremendous damages to many things like Shinkansen, trains, agricultures and so on.
Now is a time we need to take action to tell the danger of the climate change. For more information, pls visit the link shown below! If you would like to participate in this climate strike, please contact me via messenger. I will give you a document to put your name and address on it. Your participations would be big helps for everyone and the future generation! Let’s keep our earth safe for the future!

  • Some of the many good things to come out of our Mauna Kea movement, are the rise, connection & solidarity of a Lāhui to Mālama 'āina...& of every generation. All indigenous people were conscious of living sustainably, keeping water, land & air clean & protecting nature. Because they knew everything is interconnected, one thing affects another-- everything in the chain is important. They knew how every season, moon phase, ocean tide & weather pattern would affect the air, land, the crops, the fish & in turn, them. There was no choice to ever pollute, because that would directly affect the food, air & water needed to live.
'Āina warriors of today live in a very different world, where not everything is biodegradable. There are toxins in so many things, and over time our use of things that are "convenient" has taken a massive toll on our world.
As we go into Makahiki season, the traditional Hawaiian new year, & are collectively becoming more aware of our impact our daily choices make, plus the struggle other people & places are in for the same things (Protecting land, air, waters) I want to start a "Mālama 'Āina Monday Challenge" for our modern day world. Although our hearts & minds are on the mauna, we can't all be on the mauna, but we can all do things daily to truly Mālama 'Āina & be more sustainable♻️...wherever you are🌎. I try to do my best, but know there are things I can change or do better with, on the daily. We're all busy, and might be used to doing or using certain things out of habit. This "challenge" is to share what we do already & learn from each other what we might be able to do better---create new habits, learn better ways, kāko'o each other in this journey & help our keiki do better so they have a clean honua, moana & 'āina to live in & pass on.
Please tag AT LEAST 3 people & post something you do, products you use, businesses you support, tips or ways you Mālama 'Āina, practice sustainability, choose organic & make green choices in your daily life AND please use #mālamaāinamonday so we can see all of each others posts🤙 No need post only on Mondays, post whenever! But I'll personally try to post something every Monday into the Makahiki hou..

  • In this podcast I kept it real, with some really hot topics. (Not as hot as our earth will be if we don’t take rapid action against climate change thoOoo🔥)I talk about climate justice and environmental racism in this country. I talked about where we are at after the election and about fake news and sensationalism because there were entirely fake publications running during the election, and I talk about the hypocrisy of the Canadian government. The most marginalized members of our communities are at the front lines of our climate activism because they are the ones who have to live with poisoned water, but I think we can and should all play a part in this moving forward, by holding or elected officials accountable and refusing to shut up about it, because our planet is literally on fire. 🔥🌏🥀 link in bio
