Meet Sam of JESUS LOVES YOU! You can’t live or work in uptown without hearing Sam shouting Christ love. Regardless of your religious beliefs, if any, you have to respect and appreciate someone so vocal about spreading love. I for one appreciate hearing that anyone loves me, especially after leaving work. I thank you Sam and I HAVE GOOD NEWS! JESUS LOVES YOU! 🙏

Over $40,000 raised at #CLTWineandFood ’s 4th Annual Bank of America Fall Favorites dinner at the Bank of America Corporate Center on Friday, November 15. Guests enjoyed a five-course wine pairing dinner featuring the premier wines of VGS Chateau Potelle. The winery’s owner, Jean-Noel Fourmeaux, was the star guest of the evening as he told the story of his journey from Bordeaux to Napa and his path to creating world-class wines. The dinner menu was curated by Charlotte’s renowned chef and Bank of America Executive Dining Room Chef, Tom Condron (formerly of Lumiere). Book clubs help to tap our natural desire to share and better understand what we’ve read. But with so many books being published and promoted, it can be hard to find even one person who has read what you’ve read and who wants to discuss it. •
In a good book club, all members read the book before the meeting and are excited to talk about it with one another. It’s great to offer food and beverages, but try not to let the eating, drinking, and socializing interfere with the purpose of the gathering. Charlotte Lit offers our Top Five Tips for a better book club. See link in bio. •

Welcome to the #designbar office! One of our favorite parts about our space is the Ganesha accent mural. It’s funky, fun, and vibrant- just like our team! Plus it reminds us that there is no obstacle, that cannot be overcome. What excites you about your office?

Today’s post, surprising nobody, is a little sad, and a little weird. I lost my Grandfather 9 years ago today. I remember it like it was yesterday. I was at work (in the bathroom 🚽) , because I was working 3pm to 3am shifts. I got a text from my brother, which was very weird, because we rarely texted each other. I opened it up to read “Grandpa went into the hospital and died a few mins ago.” In a state of shock I tried calling family members, and got no answer. After what felt like an eternity (I looked, it was 6 minutes) I got another text back from my brother. My mom called me maybe 20 minutes later (again, could have been 5 minutes). I’m hard pressed to think of a time where I had a bigger range of emotions hit me all at once. Complete sadness that the man who gave me my love of photography, and the only grandfather I’d ever known, was gone forever. Absolute fury that I was told via text. I’ve held on to that anger for a long time. I’m letting that go today. I have to be real and admit that I’m no different than that situation. That’s how I live my life now. I do 80% of my communication via text/chat. Maybe my brother was ahead of the curve on where we were headed. I have a lot of things, both big and small, that I’ve been holding on to for way too long. Time to start letting it go of the past, for the sake of the future. RIP G-Pa.

90s Flashback: Before there was CupLux, there was Kennett Farms.
And just like CupLux, Kennett Farms was our family owned and operated business.
We didn’t make a ton of money from it. But it served as the proving grounds for future entrepreneurial endeavors. It was hard work, but boy did we produce some of the best strawberries southeastern Pennsylvania has ever tasted.
This was a project that was championed by our father Phil (seen in the second photo driving the tractor). My grandfather would come down from New Jersey and the whole town of Kennett Square (the mushroom capital of the world, mind you) would turn up for some awesome strawberries.
Kennett Farms may very well be the foundation of CupLux. A passion project that produced something that even 20 years later - people are still demanding.
We’re proud to be a family owned business. I can only hope that it has as a strong effect on future generations, that Kennett Farms had on my own🍓
