If you’ve lost your appetite today, i think i have it 😜 Dinner at @bargelloavl was amazing! One of the things I love about Asheville is that they celebrate locally sourced ingredients from homegrown farms in the area, so you know your food is always going to be fresh! The manager here actually told us you can spot the chef at the local farmers market scouting ingredients for the day - so cool! Highly recommend adding this spot to your itinerary if you’re visiting soon. Spending the next couple days in @thesouthernhost ‘s newest cabin in the woods with a few of my best friends! It’s located at the very top of a mountain, so we are thankful to have the @mazdausa CX-5 to get us up and down those steep roads! Our little cars would’ve been on the struggle bus with that job 🤣 Giving ya’ll a little tour of the cabin along with a swipe up link for booking (it’s an airbnb) on stories right now! It is SO CUTE! Hi instafam. Some of you may have noticed that I have changed my Instagram handle. While showing you places to eat and things to do around Charlotte is still very important to me, showing you hiking spots and highlighting the places I travel is important to me as well. I also have done quite a bit of self exploration this year and I see the new handle as a reflection of all I have accomplished and hope to accomplish in the future. It's fall season, but these temperatures went from summer to winter 🥶
» @dilworth_tasting_room invited a few foodies out last night for their fall menu release. These two photos are my personal favorite (filet & pumpkin creme brulee). Loved how the filet was cooked paired with the truffled Cabernet Sauvignon reduction (big oof) and add practically anything with creme brulee and you have me sold 😛. Check out their other fall menu items on my stories.
🧀 Burrata: roasted butternut squash, pomegranate seeds, microgreens, spiced honey, sage oil and toasted pumpkin seeds.
🍕 Pear & Fig Flatbread: fig puree, sautéed pears, goat cheese and topped with arugula.
🥘 Red Pepper Hummus: roasted red pepper topped with Croatian AJVAR, served with house made pita bread, roasted baby carrots, pickled vegetables and charred lemon.

Lately I’ve been feeling bad about not working harder to get into better shape for a friend’s wedding in Mexico. Not drinking has certainly helped shed some excess lbs, which is a nice side-effect of my sobriety, but I still have a mini muffin top. So this morning I did what I’m trying to do more often. I looked back at my past to try and view my current situation in a different light. This photo instantly popped into my head. This is also at a friend’s wedding, circa October 2006. I remember being very warm, because of my natural insulation, and anxiety in social settings. I wasn’t happy with my body back then either (there’s a theme here), but I was well into my post HS/college weight loss journey. I had lost probably 20lbs from when my senior pictures had been taken (my “ah-ha” or “oh shit” moment). I wasn’t happy, but I was proud of the work I’d put in. Then I started thinking about the fact that this is the first time I met my wife. I actually walked her down the aisle, along with my brother... too many groomsmen, not enough bridesmaids... don’t ask. The wedding next month comes just a few months before our 10 year wedding anniversary. This wedding ALSO happened to fall about a week before my 21st birthday, so I couldn’t drink (openly) at the wedding. It all got me thinking about how none of my worries are new. I’ve been through all of this before and made it out alive. It’s what we do. We adapt, change, conquer, and overcome. So be nice to yourself today. Think about where you’ve been and where you’re going. Think about a trip you want to take, or a restaurant you want to go to. Then invite me, because I’m hungry! Stupid pre-wedding diet 🤣
