  • These sunny November California coastal days are giving us a chance to dry Mr’s and Mrs’s clothes before things get Christmas crazy in our tiny Victorian town. We still have an opening on Sunday, Dec 15 in our barndominium ... offering a front row seat to the Ferndale Lighted Tractor 🚜 Parade. It’s a magical night and after cheering on the decorated tractors, you get to sleep under the world’s tallest living lighted Christmas tree. Booking link in bio. Hygge included free of charge.

  • OMG😱😱😱 How freaking cute🥰🥰🥰 What a wonderful idea!! Seen on another consultants page;

As if this Country Living warmer could get any cuter | A galvanized steel barn with rust-like detailing and a stamped barn door give you that country-living feel and create farmhouse-inspired warmth.
Add your own tiny Christmas wreath and it’s perfect for that Farmhouse Christmas! 🎅🏼 🎄#countrychristmas #farmhousewreath #scentsychristmas

  • •its already happened at Disneyland, so why not. The boys really pressured me the last few days, they even set up the Christmas villages so that I couldn't say the tree cant go up till the village stuff is done. My holiday party spirit has definitely found a place in my boys hearts.•

  • Good morning!! First, thank y’all for the love on Veterans Day😊 I enjoy sharing those photos because I had two amazing jobs in the Air Force that I loved and am very proud of. There are so many parts to make it all work, and each and every person is an integral part of that team.

And now on to Christmas inspiration. I am working on Christmas decor because I have a tour to shoot next week, then I’d like to relax and enjoy my family over Thanksgiving week, then Balsam Mountain Preserve to design and install the first week of December. So it is not practical to wait until the weekend after Thanksgiving like I’d normally do. I’m loving how it’s coming along too, and that I’m not stressed doing it.

This is from a few years ago and was featured in Southern Cottage magazine. One of my favorite ways to decorate is with the vintage dinnerware I have. I always get out my Currier and Ives from the 1950s because my great grandmother had some of this. My mother took a silver-plate server that belonged to my dad’s mom and put together a whole set of matching vintage silver-plate flatware that had never been used! Y’all, use the things! How sad if they just sit in a cabinet never used😢 Use them - and my tip for the day: put the knife and spoon on the *right* of the plate, blade *facing* the plate and the fork on the left😬 Details, details.
I dug the Balsam tree in this photo out of the woods here and decorated it with colored lights as my great grandmothers and grandmother on this property did. I actually have some of the tree decorations from two great grandmothers as well that I use every year. I love a vintage early 1900s Christmas tree look so much and anything really up until about 1985, but I also have some of my mom’s ornaments from the 1980s I use as well. Anyhoo — at 12° here on the mountain, it’s feeling like Christmas so I’m savoring every moment and working like a busy little elf 🎄 🎅

  • Buffalo plaid is still the rage, but for me it’s always in style. It brings to mind memories of my dads plaid hunting coat when I was little, Woolrich blankets, and our first Christmas tree skirt after we got married. It wis trimmed in black and white buffalo plaid! What are your fond memories of plaid. 😍🎄
