Finished reading The Overstory the other day- still processing the complex, devastating, beautiful novel about activism, resistance and the science and wisdom of trees. It’s true that “we only see things that look like us” which made for a difficult and dense read but I’ll never see trees in the same way again. Truly a book that makes us contemplate our place in the universe.
Memorable quotes: “What we care for, we will grow to resemble. And what we resemble will hold us, when we are us no longer. ” “To be human is to confuse a satisfying story with a meaningful one, and to mistake life for something huge with two legs.” “What you make from a tree should be at least as miraculous as what you cut down.”
The last month has been so crazy with things going on, that I have had to take a bit of a break on my photos and going out to take more photos. But I finally have had a chance to sit down and go through some of the photos from my trip to Colorado about a month ago. I’m hoping to start posting more in here again and be able to share more beauty of the world with you all. 😊
Still thinking about this beautiful morning sesh w/ @johnnyaiken. Excited to get some more of these in this winter, but first we have to take care of business out in New Zealand. After a crazy few days of travel, the team finally made it to the South Island where we'll be continuing on our road trip for the next two weeks. Posted some updates on my story! #wavechase
