I am having difficulties right now. The dog pissed on the bed and I do not know where they keep the other covers (are there even other covers?). Tonight I sleep in the piss of another animal. Hope you join me soon. #cars#piss#dogpiss#restinpiss#watersports
Guns N’ Wankers – For Dancing and Listening ~ Fat Wreck Chords ~ 1994 ~ 1st press on black /?
Here we have one of the true sleepers of the Fat Wreck catalogue. If I had to, I’d guess that many people never really ventured past the track “Skin Deep” from the 1994 “Fat Music for Fat People” CD sampler comp… upon which G N' W kinda stuck out alongside some of the premier skatepunk bands of that era (Propagandhi, Lagwagon, NOFX, etc). I have to assume their’s was one of the more frequently skipped songs, but do not assume I’m trying to suggest it’s anything less that a banger. In fact, I have come to view this EP comp as one of the best things Fat has ever released… a bold statement, I know.
So, what exactly is the reason for Guns N’ Wankers’ relative lack of recognition? As already mentioned, I think they were overshadowed somewhat for being on Fat, but far less skatepunk than their labelmates of the time. They also really only ever did these songs (plus a few that were left off this comp), with Snuff reuniting shortly afterwards and G N' W basically becoming inactive (though they have recently played some reunion shows). Finally, the band name is something that might catch one’s attention, but may also give the first impression that things are not to be taken seriously. On the contrary, these are some very deep and more personal lyrics compared to some of their contemporaries. Combine this with the anthemic character of these songs ("Help" being my personal top cut), and this is a underrated classic that belongs on any punk’s shelf.
I can’t even explain this, but if your dog can pee a perfect heart he should be famous.😳credits go to Blitz for this one! If this isn’t love from your dog♥️than I don’t know what is🤷🏻♀️ #dogpiss#heart#duncansdogs#germanshepherd 🐾🐾
