[PR gift] ⛰ There are two things you need to do to fully experience Dubrovnik. One, stroll the Old Town ancient city walls to admire GOT views and Two, get the cable car up to the mountains to see this beauty! If you take a short walk off the beaten track you'll overlook Old Town Dubrovnik and see the lush green Island that is Lokrum 😍 🌿

This might be controversial or sad 😔 but..... as I am writing ✍🏻 my Dubrovnik blog post.... and looking through our thousands of photos we took.... I can't help but think... STAIRS!!! So MANY stairs 😳. How would we have thoroughly experienced Dubrovnik or the entirety of Croatia without climbing 14.7 trillion stairs?
If you've visited... do you agree? I honestly can't think of a spot in the whole country where you don't need to climb at least 30 steps. 🤯
First WE LOVE CROATIA but Im mentioning this because we encountered seemingly fit 💪travelers in each location turning back super early (500/5000 steps in 😜) because they couldn't or just didn’t want to make it all the way to the top 🔝.
💚For this reason, if you're traveling Croatia 🇭🇷 with limited mobility or just hate exercise & stair masters I would opt to visit the coastal towns of Split, Trogir, and Zadar that have much more flat old towns. Definitely opt for a car 🚙 rental or tour guide for viewing 🔍 the remainder of the country. And... If you're headed to Dubrovnik -- be sure to spend the $25 +💸on the Cable Car to get the best views, rather than climb 🧗🏻♀️ the city walls/fortress.
🏰If you can manage it, I assure you that splurging your money and energy to climb / walk to city walls and Lovrijenac Fortress are beyond worth the workout and sweating💦 like non-other.
**pro-tip, if you show your tickets from the City Walls at Lovrijenac you'll get a discount, and visa versa**
☀️🌻We were able to THOROUGHLY explore this city in our 3 days, with a day trip 🚙to Montenegro. Be sure to follow this page and my travel blog (link in bio) for the FULL details and all of the info I wish I had prior to our visit!
Today we use the memory of eating ice cream in the pouring rain in Dubrovnik as a reminder to make the most of every experience and opportunity that life gives you💗 Things might not always be perfect, but it’s all about making memories that will last forever...

Every time I have visited Dubrovnik in summer there has been thunderstorms. Loved watching this epic storm roll through from the terrace of our B&B. The storm settled in for the day so it was a good excuse to take refuge in our favourite local wine bar for the afternoon ⛈🍷
Dubrovnik is a city on the Adriatic Sea in southern Croatia. It is one of the most prominent tourist destinations in the Mediterranean Sea, a seaport and the centre of Dubrovnik-Neretva County. (Wikipedia)
