“Hope is not a plan.”
I can’t remember where I heard this recently, but it’s putting words to truth I’ve known for a long time as a coach.
I’ve watched my clients (and myself) attack a goal with the approach of “I hope this week goes well!”
“I hope I eat healthy this week!”
“I hope I get some workouts in!”.
But here’s what I hate about “hope” being involved with your goals:
It takes responsibility off you to make things happen and relies on you possibly, maybe, by chance, doing things you’d wanted to do this week.
“Hope” leaves things up to your whims and feelings.
YOU HAVE TO HAVE A PLAN.
So this season; let’s PLAN for success. Not “hope”.
To lose 5 pounds by the end of the year.
That’s it. Nothing major. Just a 5lb loss.
I’m not just “hoping” I lose weight. I’m not crossing my fingers and praying that I “pull it off” or that “things go my way”.
News flash: things will RARELY go your way.
So HAVE A PLAN for when they don’t.
HAVE A PLAN for how you’re making this month an amazing month.
✔️ 5 workouts a week
✔️ Hitting my nutrition goals every day unless I have a good reason not to (aka, Thanksgiving 🦃 and still not eating like a butthole that day because that never feels good, period)
✔️ Meal planning each week - having @getfreshly meals delivered to me to help me not have to cook so much
That’s the beginning of MY plan.
My question for you is this:
What is your measurable goal for this week?
What are you PLANNING to do to make it happen?

#GratiTuesday Tip: There is no shortage of evidence linking gratitude to happiness, but the key is to feel it in your heart instead of keeping it in your mind. Do more than just “BE” grateful, take it a step further and “FEEL” gratitude each time you express it! Who are your teachers? FEEL gratitude for them today. Even better, write a note to this person, and send it to them or call them and read it to them!⠀

repost via @instarepost20 from @blkpowermoves Pam Brown Courtney is a real estate developer/investor and educator. She’s also the only person I know of that has built a 51 home subdivision from scratch. I saw this amazing community in Little Rock that looked similar to mine, in my opinion. It had the same kind of feel to it. It was cute and it was small. It was just a nice little community. So I went over there to the community to look around at some of the houses, and the people weren’t friendly toward me.
❤️EVERYONE HAS A STORY....❤️.
I know I’ve told this story before but I’d like to share it again. I wish IG had more character count!.
When I was 17, my mother, brother & I got into a horrible car accident in the winter on the highway that almost cost us our lives. The vehicle was crushed in, we ended up in a ditch, air bags went off, smashed my head off a window and blacked out. I swear it was the last time I’d see my mom, brother or even anyone at that. I just remember holding a keychain that had my grandpas picture on it for dear life when we got hit.
Last thing I remember was being in an ambulance not being able to move my neck. I remember the doctors asking a million questions & nothing came out of my mouth “what the f* #k happened!?” All I could ask them was “is my mom & brother ok?” And no one answered me! I was terrified.
Every doctor told us it was a miracle we came out alive. I suffered from a concussion, whiplash & a messed up shoulder, my mom suffered from some bruised ribs & whiplash & my brother a busted lip as he flew to the front of the vehicle since he had no seatbelt on. No idea how he didn’t go through the front window. .
Couple yrs of Physio, Chiro & getting into the gym changed my life. I didn’t think I’d have function of my shoulder again & thought my neck would be messed up for life. I couldn’t raise my shoulder further than 60 degrees & spent almost a yr getting it to 90. I had no strength, lived with migraines & my focus was shot from my concussion. The rest of grade 12 was a struggle for me. In University, the gym got me back. Being grateful every day for life brought me back. Determination got me back. I didn’t want to live in pain. Being grateful for even just lifting something got me back. .
Life can change in an instant. Always be grateful for the simple things. Ps. When we went back to where the crash happened, my keychain with my grandpas picture on it was shining bright from the reflection of the sun. I couldn’t believe we found it again🙏🙏🙏❤️.

Our experiences are just that, ours. Someone may remember something differently than you and that it okay, because their experiences are theirs. No matter what, your experience of the past is valid, and real, and should be honored and acknowledged.
Our memories are highly flawed, and are formed in conjunction with our own lived experiences. Now, please know I am not saying that your memory of your trauma(s) is inaccurate, rather, what I am saying is that NONE of us remember things exactly as they are. We believe that our memories are precise; we believe that events and experiences happened one way; we believe that our version is THE version, and for US, it is.
Memories should be thought of as little truths, rather than BIG TRUTHS. True for us does not mean true for someone else. Here is why this is important: If we believe that only one truth exists for the past, and an abuser asserts that their experience of events is the valid one, then we are left feeling invalidated, rejected, or further harmed. When we can hear someone else's experience of the past and KNOW that we had a very different experience, then we can honor our own truth despite someone else's recollection of events. By knowing that two things can be true at the same time (their experience and ours) then we get to honor ourselves, which is a huge part of healing.
The way you remember your childhood shapes how you feel about your caregivers as you age; the way you remember a dissolved relationship shapes how you feel about safety and boundaries in new relationships; the way you remember fights, break-ups, love, care, harm, trauma, all shape how you navigate your current connections- All of this is real and valid despite the accuracy of anyone's memory. Our felt sense of our lives guides us, not the accurate representation of events and certainly not the lens someone else holds on the past.
To those of you wondering if you are valid, if your memories are failing you, if you will ever be able to heal, I see you.
Today is national women’s entrepreneurship day! What a woman starts her own business, she gets a lot of mixed reactions from the people in her life. Some people wonder what in the world she’s doing? Some people get curious. Some roll their eyes. Some people run the other way.
Instead of making judgments about what they are doing… Ask some questions. Find out WHY they’re doing it. Instead of making judgments, you might decide it’s worth cheering them on!
How in the ....? They don’t want us to have anything !

Love the new colours of Savvy lipstick and gloss. ❤️❤️❤️ Love the mic drop ❤️it's vibrant red yet it still give you that natural red colour. 💄💄💄💋💋💕 For daytime wear lipstick, I dare you is pretty good too with anchors aweigh lip gloss. 💄💄💄 I avoided lipstick until I've encountered Savvy lipstick. Coz I've seen women having dark lips by just using conventional lipstick that is made with lead as an active ingredient that's toxic for our body.
With Savvy I don't have ro worry about it coz it doesn't have those ingredients into it.
For us it is like start of the season when most of the other companies are wrapping up. Forever November and December have been the busiest time of the year for EBC or three passes thanks to @impactmarathon for you kind recommendations and collaboration @takeonnepal . . .

Millennial Nomaad is not a politically affiliated platform. And I do not want it to be. I want it to be a welcoming space for open dialogue, diversity, and compassion. And it will continue to be so. But, I think there comes a time when our value systems are put into the light, and our silence becomes a passive acceptance. I encourage peace & communication, because it is a constructive way to bring about change. The Iranian people abroad have been cut off from their internet access —they do not have the capability of having their voice heard. So it is important for us who can, to give exposure. They are putting their lives at risk to speak out against what they believe is their right to freedom and self-expression. I think the least we can do is to let them know, we hear you and we see you. Wishing its people safety and harmony. I know that is not enough for what they’re facing right now, but I wanted to share the awareness. #ıranprotests

This is the Amazing Virginia of @adventures_of_gingin
Early last year we met at Cascade Hut near Thredbo. We were both out for a quiet solo hike, both testing out injuries after surgeries, her knee/my ankle. We spent a couple of hours sitting outside the old cattlemans hut, in dappled sunlight under huge old trees, sharing stories.
Virginia is one of the incredible adventure women i am interviewing for a film about our connection to Nature when alone. Also the first interview i have ever conducted. Usually, it's the other way around.
This film will bring together women who represent all of us and hopefully empower, enlighten and inspire.

We are doing a 10 day challenge and I’m not letting a little sickness knock me out of the running. 🤪
So I’m “sorry not sorry” for the catch up post!💋 ** DAY 1: 𝑬𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓 : This is my favorite color that we have but what this word means, is what sets my soul on fire. Sometimes you just need someone else to empower you to say, “hey girl, it’s ok to make changes, and to do your own thing.” Or, “it’s ok to be different and to stand out!” “It’s ok, that you don’t have a perfect smile, but smile big anyway.” <—- Those are a few one of the many ways how you can empower someone. Plus, naming this beautiful color was fun too!😘 #empower#10daysofbellaliplove

Day 19 of Thanksgiving 💜
I am so truly grateful to God for the LOVE he has for me. Because of Him,
I am..... I am complete in Him Who is the head over all rule and authority—of every angelic and earthly power (Colossians 2:10). I am alive with Christ (Ephesians 2:5). I am free from the law of sin and death (Romans 8:2). I am far from oppression, and will not live in fear (Isaiah 54:14). I am born of God, and the evil one does not touch me (1 John 5:18). I am holy and without blame before Him in love (Ephesians 1:4; 1 Peter 1:16). I have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16; Philippians 2:5). I have the peace of God that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). The Spirit of God, who is greater than the enemy in the world, lives in me (1 John 4:4). I have received abundant grace and the gift of righteousness and reign in life through Jesus Christ (Romans 5:17). I have received the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Jesus, the eyes of my heart enlightened, so that I know the hope of having life in Christ (Ephesians 1:17-18). I have received the power of the Holy Spirit and He can do miraculous things through me.I have authority and power over the enemy in this world (Mark 16:17-18; Luke 10:17-19). I am renewed in the knowledge of God and no longer want to live in my old ways or nature before I accepted Christ (Colossians 3:9-10). I am merciful, I do not judge others, and I forgive quickly. As I do this by God’s grace, He blesses my life (Luke 6:36-38). God supplies all of my needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). In all circumstances I live by faith in God and extinguish all the flaming darts (attacks) of the enemy (Ephesians 6:16). I can do whatever I need to do in life through Christ Jesus who gives me strength (Philippians 4:13). I am chosen by God who called me out of the darkness of sin and into the light and life of Christ so I can proclaim the excellence and greatness of who He is (1 Peter 2:9). I am born again—spiritually transformed, renewed and set apart for God’s purpose—through the living and everlasting word of God (1 Peter 1:23). I am God’s workmanship, created in Chri

My dad and I’s schedules FINALLY aligned where we could workout together tonight!
AND: update on Walmart’s grocery pickup! Literally was amazing!! Makes grocery shopping a breeze! Seriously so easy guys, and saves you money and time. Not tempted to grab everything in sight at the store when you’re starving 😅 however, 10/10 recommend and will be doing this every time from now on 😂 I pulled in and they were in the parking lot waiting for me, and helped me load everything. Why didn’t I start this sooner 🙌🏼
