  • If we were home right now we’d be fighting about reading homework and paper and eating vegetables for dinner. But in the #floridakeys Jamie just popped a bottle of champagne. Gosh this life is easy. #vacation #vacationmode

  • Home sweet island home. 🏝
.
We made an unpopular decision today. We decided to cancel our two-night tent camping trip to Dry Tortugas National Park. We had everything lined up- ferry reservations, dog boarding, a place to leave the camper, and we even bought a new tent and have been researching vegan/gluten free backpacking meals. We realized that our intentions on going were seeming to lean more towards “let’s check off another park” than “this is something we’re super excited about”. We’re already on an island in the keys and in this spot we can hang out in our waterfront accommodations WITH water and electric hookups, our pups to snuggle, a full kitchen, our own bed, and the most gorgeous island sunsets. I’m sure Dry Tortugas is phenomenally beautiful, but we’re happy here with cell service and a grocery store 15 minutes away. What we are super excited about though, is our three nights coming up at the end of December at Flamingo Campground in Everglades National Park. We can’t wait to be surrounded by all the wildlife, including, but not limited to, massive alligators and crocodiles!!! 🐊🐊🐊

  • // Hello world, me again. Lately, I haven’t done much particularly ig-worthy living, hence the silence. Feeling pretty over it, actually.

As if keeping our shit together half the time isn’t enough, we face the constant pressure of crafting compelling words and images that just aren’t reflective of our everyday lives.

The experts say ig is getting rid of “likes” and trending toward authentic, less-filtered content. If that’s the case, y’all be seeing photos of that laundry I haven’t done or that meeting I’m sitting in or me staring at a laptop until my eyes cross.

As I was digging for a decent image of the adventures I haven’t been having, I stumbled across this photo I took in July.

It’s my brother holding his daughter. We were enjoying a sunset cruise during family vacay this summer. I love it because she’s reaching for “Aunt Leesh” and that makes my heart want to explode.

My salty feelings neutralized, replaced with warm, cozy gratitude. Which I guess is a fitting theme for the approaching holiday.

So here’s my unsolicited, seasonal PSA: step away from the phone for some solid family time next week. Be truly present and soak in moments like this. Ask questions about each other’s lives and listen to the answers. Get outside, take random adventures, and love your kinfolk.

I look forward to not seeing the pictures. Catch y’all on the next rant ✌🏼//

  • We crossed an item off our bucket list today - Drive the Florida Keys!

The drive and scenery must be experienced first-hand to be appreciated. I’m extremely grateful to have a side gig which provides the means necessary to have these experiences. What started as simply finding an amazing health product evolved into helping others achieve their health and wellness goals to filling my vacation fund to taking trips on a whim while helping others do the same. We’re enjoying the Southernmost sunset in the US this evening!
