Yuletide Camellia (Camellia sasanqua 'Yuletide') giving the gift of color in the garden this holiday season. I love these flowers and how they really pop in the winter time and brighten the winter garden. I have these on a lattice (espaliered form) along the fenceline in our garden bed area. My kids' windows face the garden and in the spring- fall often other tall crops are growing to give interest to this part of the garden but in the winter only lower crops like kale, lettuce, onions etc are there so these camellias growing up along the fence make a bug impact. .
Camellias are evergreen but they bloom in winter with their dark, glossy leaves around year-round. They grow best in filtered light, beed moderate amount of water but are overall easy to grow and care for.
