  • So many of us are avid runners, spin junkies (raising my hand here for both 🖐🏻), and any other form of cardio we can get our hands on to keep ourselves fit and healthy. ⁣⁣

All of this activity can leave us with lean and mean physiques, but also with quite a bit of wear and tear on our joints and muscles. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Recently, I have experienced a decrease in mobility for my hips and tension in my lower back. These are classic symptoms of overuse and exertion that are quite commonly linked to hip flexors and possible tendinitis around the hip joints, which can also lead to a tight and achy lower back. It’s all connected! ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
And...I know I’m not alone...⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Here are a few basic stretches (courtesy of @miss_sunitha) that are excellent for relieving pain and tension and keeping you limber and fluid for whatever method of cardio drives you. ⁣

  • WALKING .
So walking has become a big part of my daily activity. It has changed from being a gentle walk in the park to a real good workout. Something which satisfies my need for the adrenaline or endorphin rush I always crave, it doesn’t replace weight training, it supplements the gaps very nicely. 
It’s  something You can do more or less throughout pregnancy and very soon after giving birth. It can be as hard or as easy as you like and it’s something you can do with others.  Mentally and Physically Stimulating it’s a no brainer.

Here are some top tips for Walking .
1. Pick various routes - find parks, streets, lakes, rivers, fields, wherever you can be safe and enjoy a long stroll. Freestyle the route in the day to how far you feel you can go. 
2. Use a digital map on your phone or watch. Mainly this is so you can record your time and distance and challenge yourself 
3. Wear a Sports bra 
4. If you goal is to get fitter, try increasing your pace, walk fast. You can always mix it up and enjoy Fartlek training. So that could be  Walk/ Jog / Sprint / Walk / Sprint / Jog etc!
5. If you usually walk a particular hill. Power walk or jog it , then, time it!! Challenge yourself. 
6. Take water / Healthy Snacks and a well stocked baby change bag 
7. If your going generally off piste (which I like to do) Let someone know where you are by sharing your location 
8. Get a buggy with decent rubber wheels for bumpy terrain. 
9. Coat and Pram Rain Cover Incase you get caught in the rain. (I always do) 
10. If you need a fitness motivator or want to compete with me 🤪 for any fitness goals and you have a Apple Watch just inbox me your email and I’ll add you.

Perfect that it snowed today for the picture lol 😂 
These are great to bring with you to any Christmas party you attend with only a few ingredients needed. —————————————————
3 cups unsweetened coconut flakes
1/2 cup almond flour
1/2 cup coconut flour
1/3 cup maple syrup 
Place all dry ingredients into food processor and pulse until coconut flakes are fine. Pulse again while adding in the maple syrup until mixture forms into dough. Form into 1 tbsp balls and place on non-stick cookie sheet ———————————————————
For the chocolate melt 1/3 cup dark chocolate with 1 tsp coconut oil. Dip each ball into the chocolate and place in fridge or freezer until chocolate hardens. Store in fridge until ready to eat!
