Lobaria pulmonaria, Tree Lungwort. The doctrine of signatures is strong with this one. Beautiful lichen, antimicrobial in the lungs for all things horrible - pneumonia, bronchitis, whooping cough. Strongly resembles lung tissue, grows in the wet coastal rainforest where such sickness prevails. Recent studies suggest its use in the neurodegenerative disease known as mad cow disease, or Creutzfeldt-Jacob disease. This is fascinating to me, as this disease affects deer as well, found in abundance in the surrounding woods. Nature truly is amazing. #lichen#wearenature#intothewild#herbalmedicine
Walking into the unknown, the path less taken gives you at least one reason to be glad.
I wandered off into the woods in Alibaug, admist a a thick cover of bush, crossed a dry river bed, crossed an old rusted bridge, walked through thorns and bushes. I walked to walk away and walked it search of nothing.
Then I found this. Half the leaf has dried out completely and formed a web like structure. I am sure there is a term for this but for me, this was the highlight of my day. So rare, so pretty, so unknown. #trail#walk#intothewild#leaf#dry#bush#bushcraft#nature#natureporn#web
Up until recently, you wouldn’t see females out at cafes without a male guardian. This picturesque cafe is buzzing with female friends meeting up after work and on the weekends, because, well, they can. 📍 At Home Cafe, Tripoli

The tide is high, but I'm holding on.
Have you noticed?
Environmental concerns are now in the headlines pretty much every single day.
There are two ways of looking at this:
First is that we've let things get so bad that we can no longer ignore what we are doing to our world.
And second is that people are waking up to how much we depend on a healthy planet for our health, happiness and prosperity.
Last year, by far the worst thing about all the environmental news stories I was reading (all hidden deep down in the science and environment section), was that no one else was talking about it.
Not in the media anyway. It felt like we were going to sleepwalk into the apocalypse. Madness.
But now it's everywhere. Finally going mainstream, and no longer an option to ignore.
The solutions are out there and the world is at last waking up. That's the glimmer of hope which keeps me holding on.
It's still such a beautiful World.
What are you doing to reconnect with it?
What are you doing to protect it?
