8x200's with 90sec jog recovery (plus a WU and CD to get to 6mi) to start my friYAY🤗
I've decided I really like 200's. They're so short, you really get to test your speed and see what you're capable of.
I don't have any races coming up in the near future, I'm just tryna build speed, so doing a couple workouts a week and the rest is easy running. And I've thoroughly been enjoying my running🤗
Also, I'm SUPER excited for everyone running CIM this weekend!!!

Early morning means I’m taking it to the treadmill.🏃🏻♀️I better get used to it!😝I scare myself so much when it’s dark out that it’s not even worth it.🙈Right now, I’m just working on building my base back up before another training cycle starts! #marathontraining#netflixandtreadmill#goals

7 morning miles!🏃🏻♀️Using an old pic because I was running late today.🙈I’m enjoying just doing whatever I feel like right now. The training grind will be starting up soon enough and I plan to go all in again!🤗I want to be ready for it, so I’m soaking up this more relaxed time!

Sunday funday! 10 miles running and a spin class!🏃🏻♀️🚴🏻♀️Felt like being lazy and not doing anything. Did it anyway! Glad I did it.😝That’s pretty much how most of my days go! #sundayrunday#runbaltimore#goals

3 lunch time easy miles were enough to sort me out today 😍
With a long day ahead I've gone from feeling achy, tired and headachy to feeling happy, motivated and ready to go. Its amazing the difference that a run can make! Anyone else find a run and a bit of fresh air is always a game changer?
Now to tackle this afternoon/evening at work with a big smile on my face! Hope your all having a good one 😊
Sunrise run. Quick 4.5 miles round town to get my run fix in. Have a full day of activities and hoping @nicole.g.wellness can bring back some warmth from Florida!!

Throwback to maratón Valencia last Sunday. I ran a PR: 4:02:16! I felt very good during the race due to a perfect combination of sportsdrink, water and coca cola. I enjoyed the scenery and I was able to sprint the last 900 meters. Thanks to all the people cheering me on! It was so crowded the last 7 km.. wow! #42kvalencia#marathon#maratonvalencia

#isurvivedtannenbaum2019 by DNF-ing. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing but awe for those of you who stuck it out. But it wasn't for me. After an injury plagued marathon season, running on ice in my Kinvaras was not worth the risk of re-injury. And what's more, I wasn't having fun.
I'm trying to fix my relationship with running, and forcing myself to run 10km in a winter storm doesn't further that goal. In the past, I might have done it anyway, to prove something to myself, or other people. But this year, the motto is running serves me, I do not serve running.
Today's run on mostly clear sidewalks was much more enjoyable. And my #tannenbaum10k hat kept my ears nice and toasty.
I love my morning coffee especially when I can get protein in & it tastes amazing. Protein is critical throughout your whole day and in the morning it kicks start you into a fat burning state.
I am obsessed with level 1 + almond whipped cream & cinnamon!

‘I get by with a little help from my friends’
I joined @active_huw at @barryislandparkrun1 for a leisurely chatty run this morning. We’ve both been having a tough time lately (for very different reasons), so it was good to let off a bit of steam.
I unwittingly ran my 40th @parkrunuk this morning - not a milestone, but I thought I had only run about 25😂
Thanks to @annieshealthylifestyle & @gavrunscardiff for being our cheerleaders (& photographers 📷)
Hi! 🙋🏼♀️ I’m Gretchen, and I love long runs with workouts mixed in. 8 miles with mile intervals thrown in this morning. Mostly done in the dark. My first workout since Philly. 🏃🏻♀️
This run was anything but easy! I’ve been popping Sudafed so needless to say I didn’t feel 💯. Plus my bum is still sore from those single leg squats I did on Thursday. 😳 But, I’m still proud of myself for getting this done! It’s going to be a busy birthday party day so this set a nice tune for me.
Do you ever wonder what non-runners must think when they see us on the side with our headlamps and reflective gear? Are they inspired? Think we’re crazy? Both? 🤣
Ok. Rambles done. Off to Starbucks, cake pickup and then home to my kiddos. Happy Saturday! 💗 #longrun#offseasontraining
10k Festive Round Up 🎅
1st Lady 🥇
5th overall 👊
Beautiful trail 10k race as part of my 10 mile training run today.🏃🏻♀️I really didn’t feel like it; this week has been tough in lots of ways, but was actually a great way to kick off the weekend! Definitely feeling Christmassy now!🎅 🎄 #firstlady#trailrace#santarun#10krace#runner
If you’re always trying to be normal, you will never know how amazing you can be...
This is me.
Working on the best version of me.
Staying weird and curious.
About what my body and mind CAN DO.
Every. Single. Day.
The most destructive thing you can ever do is NOT share who you really are..
That was me then and sometimes me now.
I still struggle. I still have fears.
Do it now.
Say yes for once.
Be the first in line.
Sit in front of the row.
Dance in the middle.
This is the ONLY thing that will ever matter👆
Day 5/10 - please don’t let this one end already - I’m going to soak it all in..
Last race week of the year
Feeling on fire
I hope this inspires you to fire up your life too!
That's 8 miles done in bits and bobs before 11am. Ran to #PenningtonFlash , did #parkrun , filled my face with coffee and cake, had a good natter, then a lovely little trot home. Perfect Saturday morning! .
If you’re interested in joining let me know! Everyone has been doing a fabulous job!
5,000 steps done & my three workout moves. Now time for Jabz!

✅ Saturday morning parkrun!
Want to find my pace again so pushed a little today to see what it felt like. Almost vomited at the end, but, the body actually felt ok. Think I’m in a good place to now start ramping this training up. If only I always at 9am and this weather every day!
First #parkrun in a while! I have such a love/hate relationship with Parkrun. My alarm goes off pretty early every weekday and I just can’t help but want to stay in bed on a Saturday morning for as long as possible! .
Day seven of #decemberreflections : favourite photo of 2019
This one is taken from my other account @elizabethgetsfitter . It’s not my favourite because of the image itself but of what it represents. I chose ‘lionhearted’ as my word for the year and this is me living my word.
This was taken (without my knowledge) in the middle of the night during Race to the Stones 62mile ultra marathon in July. I’d been having some incredibly painful blister problems. So, I sat on the ground, trainer off, first aid kit out, foot patched up, trainer back on, and off we went. It turned out that almost the entire bottom of one foot had blistered and burst. (Grim, sorry.)
This is a version of me that I want to remember; one who is capable, determined, gritty and resilient. One who can laugh in the face of adversity and choose to continue with her adventure. One who gets shit done. One who is in touch with her emotional self (I cried like a baby at the end.) One who is lionhearted. 🦁❤️
Yesterday I was back with Joe @fixmyrun for session no 4! So pleased with the progress 🙌😄
After some glute activation exercises to wake my lazy glutes up (part shown in videos 3&4) we assessed how my muscle memory was developing through the exaggerated running technique I’ve been using....and I’m pleased to report it was looking pretty good! The glutes are now firing properly while running, creating the circular movement, meaning my feet are landing in line with hips = acceleration rather than breaking 🎉🎉
Anyone else think they might have lazy glutes and be over striding?! It’s so common!
We then started the process of relaxing the new technique to a more manageable, natural level (in the real world you couldn’t maintain that for a marathon!) and the video is the result of this. It felt great!! .
I can now begin to practise this on my runs this week, there’s still plenty of work to do and I’ll need to be regularly going through my checklist but it really feels like it’s starting to come together, ready for the start of marathon training at the end of December 😄
If you are in the Manchester area get in touch with Joe for an assessment, you’ll never look back 🙌
Session kindly gifted by @fixmyrun
Feels good to run 🍁outdoors. I always prefer to run outdoors🏔 rather than the treadmill. Sometimes, we just have to hit🏃♀️ the mill tho. Regardless, a run is better than no run. Can’t wait for tomorrow’s adventure 🎄
4 miles @ unknown pace

Made it back home with a big smile on my face. I managed to finish the 5km Spartan run today! This is the first time I have ever done anything like this, and signing up was a scary step into the unknown. I won't say it was easy, but I also won't say it was hard. There were moments where I was nervous, moments where I was excited, moments of pure joy where I felt I was flying along effortlessly, and then moments I got a bit disappointed because I couldn't make my body hold on (monkeybars!), but at the end of the day, the course was exactly how it needed to be. I enjoyed the chats with other Spartans along the way, and the learning I can take away to prepare for the next one. I am also glad I practiced my push ups for the burpees! If anyone wants to be in a team for 2020, I am super keen on a trifecta! 😊😉😘 @spartanraceau#spartansprint#spartanrace#spartan#fitterfasterstronger#thosedamnmonkeybars#2020goals#spartantrifecta#spartantraining#whoswithme
Keep going. Even when you think you can’t. Keep believing in yourself. Keep trying. Keep pushing when the going gets tough. You can do anything that you set your mind to.
It’s hard to believe it was only 12 days ago that I ran my 24th marathon. My recovery had been going well and I’m already thinking about races I want to do in the spring!
What is your favorite motto that keeps you going when things get tough?

Tighten up that pony because... I'm cleared to run!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ @runeatrepeat@runeatrepeat@runeatrepeat ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Yes - I'm out of the boot and was cleared to run 1 mile about a week ago. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I have a lot of videos and updates on the journey I'll share soon!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Thank you for all the messages and comments. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I really appreciate you for asking and caring. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I'm very grateful that we found each other and can hang out here!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Have a great weekend!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What happened to my foot in a nutshell:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I broke the 2nd metatarsal bone in my left foot in Sept. It may have happened on a walk with Diego (my 90 lb. pupper).⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It wasn't diagnosed at Urgent Care & walked around on it for 3 weeks before an MRI showed it was a complete break.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is really the first time ever I've had a legit injury!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I had IT Band Syndrome when I first started running full marathons about 9 years ago. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Looking at it now - that was so much easier to deal with because I could do a lot more than I could in a boot!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I'll share more in an upcoming post and podcast on RunEatRepeat.com

S L O W 🧘🏻♀️ F L O W view tonight. A full house at @funkybuddhayoga Holland and even though my body decided to be extremely uncooperative and not the least bit flexible 🙄 it was a great way to kick off the weekend, as always! I especially loved today’s @yung_pueblo quote: “Allow yourself to transform as many times as you need to be fully happy and free”. There’s no better word to describe my 2019 than transformative. I plan to spend the remaining 26 days of the year continuing to chase goals, working hard, having fun and being true to myself. ❤️🏃🏻♀️✌🏻

Maiden run with my new Mizunos! These are my 5th pair of Wave Riders and I think it’s safe to say I’ve found my perfect running shoe. I over slept this morning (through 3 alarms) and there was no chance I was going to make it to parkrun on time... I gave it a crack anyway, got every green light (this never happens), arrived to Surfers Paradise parkrun at 7:05 and they hadn’t started yet! The stars aligned for me today! My first 2 laps felt SO good, my 3rd not so great with a 22-week baby pushing hard into my appendix area 😬 but she chilled out again for the 4th lap and we finished strong! In 33rd place (my lucky number)! #runstreak day 341 #runningfortwo
