  • crying happy tears because of 1. the very delicious and spicy papaya salad that’s not pictured and 2. Sone Ze Ya is bringing back all the mems from my Myanmar travels earlier this year. I can’t recommend this sweet little place on the northeast of KC enough, if you haven’t had Burmese food I recommend starting with the tea leaf salad and mohinga noodle! also if you want to hear the story of the owners journey to KC and more, join me tomorrow @crossroadshotelkc with @newamericaneconomy and @openbelly link in bio to learn more #kcplates

  • We thought it was time for a little reintroduction! Meet The American’s Executive Chef, Andrew Longres. 
Growing up in a small town north of Kansas City, Chef Andrew knew at an early age that he had a passion for food. From working at a world-renowned restaurant, The French Laundry, in California to running the kitchen at Bluestem in Kansas City, he developed quite the resume with his diverse and impressive background. In December of 2017, Chef Andrew returned to The American, where he worked as sous chef earlier in his career.
We are incredibly grateful to have Chef Andrew lead our kitchen and continue to impress us with his masterful cuisine!
