(La Union, Phillipines): Casugay was leading a one-on-one race against Indonesian surfer Arip Nurhidayat Friday (Dec. 6) in the Southeast Asian Games when he noticed that Nurhidayat broke his ankle leash and was swept by towering waves. He didn’t hesitate to save his life. The games were put on hold.
Today they re-commenced and Casugay earned the Philippines its first-ever gold medal in surfing in SEA Games. 🏄❤️

I used to work with glamorous people in the fashion industry.. I super loved it as much as I love what I’m doing now. Even though the weather here toasted ☀️ my skin into a bit of a tan, in which I always prefer to have a fair skin (pls don’t judge me) and I work hard labor sometimes which I don’t mind. You won’t believe me if I tell you I get emotional with nature, you’ll find me crying with beautiful kissing trees along the road.. Just right now, I saw another part of #launion that has a beautiful view of mountains and farm. I’m always a kid at heart every time I see magnificent mountains.. you’ll here me say “wow!! Ahhhhhh Ganda!” I love the Philippines and looking forward to explore other places here.. It’s funny because my kids are like me.. in moments like this.. I am missing them more.. Day 2 of the 30th SEA Games Surf Competition in San Jian, La Union, Philippines
Just want To share some pictures from The last day of the 1st ever SEA games Surfing Competition.
Took these pictures of our Filipino athletes who were about to hit some practice waves.
This happened 2 days after the Roger Casugay and Mencos incident.
The waves still looked daunting but our National Athletes braved the waves to prepare for the medal rounds.
I am not sure why the other teams did not join them, but for me it shows out Philippine Team’s heart #puso , and bravery #tapang to face the day’s challenges.
