  • This incredible deep sea creature, the Chimera, lives in a place where the sunlight never goes, known as the midnight zone.

Thanks to this unforgiving darkness, the Chimera has evolved to sense creatures via a jelly like substance in its nasal pores!

Additionally, as you can see, the Chimera has some HUGE blue eyes to at least pick up on bioluminescent predators / prey! With its venomous spine, eery fin-flapping, and moon-like eyes, the Chimera is officially Snagfish confirmed! 🎥 by @oceanx

Most endangered whale
The North Atlantic right whale is one of the most endangered whales. Only around 400-500 individuals survive, living along the east coast of North America. A few hundred right whales also live in the North Pacific while the Western Pacific gray whale may be down to the last 150 whales.

Why is surfing so dangerous?
One common danger of surfing relates to the way the waves form. A lot of times, the wave breaks the way it does because the water is shallow and is colliding with rocks and reef formations under the water. ... Perhaps the most overlooked danger in surfing is the surfboard itself. ————————————————————————

  • You probably heard it before - "be in the present moment". Don't regret about the past and don't be nervous about the future. Good advice. Why not to apply it for Freediving?
If you are interested to know what I recommend for my students (especially Master level) during their PB's in DYNb, then check out our tomorrow's post!

  • I’ve been a little quiet - in the past 10 days both my husband and I had surgery (all is OK) and my youngest daughter had a concussion that ended her in the ER (she’s OK). So we’ve been recovering, reflecting and trying to get back on that horse. I walk past this sign every day on my way to work - it seemed so appropriate that I had to laugh a little. Ready for the holidays! #encinitas #lifeunderwater

Ice fishermen comprise a surprisingly large and growing group within the angling fraternity. That may come as a surprise to many. The idea of cutting a hole in the ice to drop a tiny bait on the nose of a fish may seem like finding the proverbial needle in the haystack. But with a little thought, planning and the right equipment, finding and catching fish through the ice can be surprisingly easy – and incredibly fun!

Working together as they hunt, groups of killer whales cooperate to herd fish into a compact area so that they’re easier to gobble up. They will also slap their tails onto the water’s surface, causing a wave to wash prey (such as penguins or sea lions) off ice floes and into the water.
