  • Reflecting back on this year’s adventures recently, I realized there are a few photos from our trip to Tombstone Territorial Park in the Yukon that I never got around to sharing! I guess that’s what happens when summer is packed with adventures 😁 Before I completely forget about them, I thought I’d take the opportunity to share a few. This one was from our hike to Grizzly Lake — or more accurately, the hike out from Grizzly Lake, since the way there was pouring rain. Luckily, the clouds cleared in the morning and we were able to fully appreciate the views. Why bother spending thousands of dollars going to Patagonia, when you can spend a few hundred to fly up to the Yukon and see these beauties?!

  • Well, it's dumping buckets here in Joe's Valley and about to get bitterly cold and I'm coming to terms with the fact I might need to move on from here until Spring. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I put SO much effort into the climb pictured here (Resident Evil V10) and came SO close a handful of times literally fighting through ripped and bleeding skin but alas, my battle continues lol 🙄
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I think my biggest lesson I've learned this trip to Joe's is that rest is valuable and to be more strategic about my climbs. I probably would have climbed harder more often if I had been more diligent with this. I'm honestly psyched at that epiphany (and others) and interested to test out a better strategy in the next climbing area. 😁
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I'm thinking Bishop is that place! Any suggestions? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • Throwback to the last summit of this year on Mt Baldy. Hiking season’s done and we made the most of it this year. Fortunate to be living in California where a few hours drive can take you to a place completely mesmerizing and therapeutic. Being outdoors helps clear the mind, so y’all go outside when you have time, you can always bring a whiskey flask with you haha #tbt #california #mountaintherapy #olithepup

  • Obviously my first stop in Paris was the Eiffel Tower. One of the biggest things I have learned from traveling is to throw out all preconceived notions you have about a place or people. Excited to explore more of this city over the next few days.

  • 🚨Attention not my kill🚨
Since everyone has been asking if I CAUGHT A DEER this year 🤦‍♀️ Haha No sir I wasn't successful in tagging out on my personal tags. Had shot opportunities but I was personally trophy hunting. Most people don't understand that since "You can't Eat the Horns" #noshit 🤓 But if it was really just about the meat & getting meat for the winter I wouldn't take time off work or invest money into it. Fact is I don't believe in killing immature young bucks or spike bulls. ( my personal beliefs) And truly don't like killing cows that could potentially be pregnant. I'm not sharing this to argue on social media just my personal choice in the way I hunt. So when I Express my reason behind trophy hunting don't say ignorant comments. Think before you say judgmental shit MmmKayyy 👌I don't think it's very challenging to kill young immature animals 🤷‍♀️ But do you 👍🙃 #whatgetsyououtdoors #enjoythestalk #mountaintherapy #highcountry #snowcountry #mountainview #mythoughts #godscountry

Has owning anything to do with love?... I can't pretend
it gets sick for me in my absence,
though I get sick for it...' Norman MacCaig got it. If you're going to have a one-sided love affair, have it with a mountain ❤ ~ The path that leads down off Spidean Còinich into Bealach a' Chornaidh

  • I started hiking 6 years ago, when I was 42 years old. I don’t consider myself athletic. My first major hike was Mt San Jacinto from the tram. It was 10 miles, 2,400 feet, and I barely made it. I continued on completing the SoCal Six Pack of Peaks. Every hike hurt. It was 14 miles, 16 miles, 18 miles and 4,000, 5,000, and 6,000 feet of climbing. I had stomach issues on the trail, I got headaches, I cried. But I kept going back for more. I trained to hike Whitney in a day. It took me 19 hours to hike 22 miles. We started at 1:30 am and finished at 8:30 pm. I learned to backpack. Each mile was hard. I often wondered why I hiked and backpacked. Who does this?! Who enjoys this?! Never again. But I keep going back for more. I have done the 6 pack each year for the past 6 years to train. I have hiked Whitney 9 times. I have hiked Mt Langley, White Mountain, Mt Shasta, Salkantay to Machu Picchu, Zion, Havasupai, Kilimanjaro (19,340 ft), John Muir Trail, High Sierra Trail, over 500 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail, and I am going to Nepal in April to hike to Everest Base Camp. I have taken Snow Basics training in Tahoe where I camped in a tent while 3 feet of snow dumped on my tent. I climbed Mt Shasta with crampons and ice axe. I have taken Wilderness first responders class. In the spring I will take avalanche training. I have hiked more in 6 years than most hike in a lifetime. I have enjoyed it, cried, struggled, and fell in love with the mountains. I am here to teach anyone who wants to learn, how to backpack in the backcountry. #letthejourneybegin #hikingtherapy #socalhiking #murrieta #temecula #mountaintherapy #badassmom

  • Rapid temperature changes caused the lava to fracture in areas of weakness resulting in these hexagonal columns, then to top it off a waterfall gracefully falling down amongst the middle of it.
Damn mother nature. You’re too amazing.
