E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982) - directed by you know who and starring Henry Thomas, Dee Wallace, Peter Coyote, Robert McNaughton, Drew Barrymore, KC Martel, Sean Frye, C Thomas Howell, Debra Winger, and Pat Welsh as the voice of ET…
Lance Acord’s recent holiday commercial for Infinity with ET got me thinking about this holiday classic. This beautiful one sheet is the teaser poster for this seminal Spielberg film, and I am so pumped to have it in our collection. ET’s face was modeled after poet Carl Sandburg, Albert Einstein, and a Pug dog. ET’s communicator actually worked and was constructed by Henry Feinberg. Spielberg personally screened the film for President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan at the White House. Not sure if you guys can remember, but when this came out on video it was GREEN cassette tapes to thwart video pirates. Spielberg gave Michael Jackson one of the real ET puppets from the film. Melissa Mathison wrote this film with Steven while he was making Raiders of the Lost Ark (Mathison was married to Harrison Ford) Funny…Elliott’s LAST NAME is never mentioned. Robert Zemeckis was visiting set and actually designed the shot where ET’s face is surrounded by all the stuffed animals and toys. Highest grossing movie of all time until Jurassic Park took the crown. Shelley Long was originally cast as Elliotts Mom - a part that went to scream queen Dee Wallace. Most of the full body ET puppetry was performed by a 2ft 10” tall stunt man. Juliette Lewis auditioned for the role of Gertie, but her Dad made her turn it down. And out there somewhere is a scene where Harrison Ford plays Elliott’s principal at school…
My 8 impressionistic paintings are still on display until Dec 13. Come by and enjoy the art, chill at the bar w/ the cool owner Ryan and browse through things that will bring back memories from the 70', 80's, 90's...you will find lots of interesting things.

Triple Frontier was NO FUCKING BULLSHIT! The Netflix original starring Oscar Isaac, Ben Affleck, Charlie Hunnam, Pedro Pascal and that guy from the Tron movie and Four Brothers that’s annoying as fuck. A group of special forces vets unhappy with how they’ve been repaid for the sacrifices they made for their country come up with a plan to get what they think they deserve. I was skeptical, so it took a while to come around to watching it, but holy shit am I glad I finally did! It’s been a while since I watched a movie that made my heart beat like this did, and it gets the hooks in early. I actually paused the movie and had to check how much was left, because it felt like the third act was happening in the first 30 minutes, and you want them so badly to succeed. It really feels like even though things haven’t gone exactly according to plan, it’s only come off the tracks a little but it’s gonna be ok. But then shit goes really sideways and you need to really watch this one to see how it shakes out. Typically, a movie that’s been out this long, I wouldn’t give a fuck about spoilers. But this was good. It does get a little predictable here and there, but then makes up for it with surprising twists that you aren’t expecting. If you haven’t seen Triple Frontier yet, it’s definitely worth your time. For all of the shit originals Netflix has been putting out like Secret Obsession, this makes up for it..Well maybe not Secret Obsession, but this was really fucking good! #nobullshitreviews#benaffleck#oscarisaac#charliehunnam#pedropascal#triplefrontier#netflix#netflixoriginal#movie#movies#movienight#warmovies#moviereviews#actionmovies#veteranmovies#veterans#moviecritic#veteranowned
