  • Good thing I hiked this morning because I just realized it’s #nationaltakeahikeday 🌵 My favorite crested saguaro was looking extra sweet today when the clouds started to roll in.

  • The second most photographed barn in America. As the sun rose the sky glowed pink for just an instant behind the Tetons. ⁣⁣Swipe -> to see the full panorama!

It’s only been a month or too since my trip to the Tetons but it feels like forever! I already have my eyes set on my next adventure. The mountains are calling.

  • A few weeks ago Jessica got a text from one of her Aunts who lives in idaho. She asked us if we wanted to be the shuttle drivers for her and her husband to hike rim to rim in the Grand Canyon. This meant, leaving early from work on friday, driving all night to Jacob's lake. Then leaving at 5:00 AM to drop them off at the North Kaibab trail, and then shuttling the car down to the South Rim, and doing whatever hike we wanted. So, obviously you say yes to an offer like that, which we did. We decided to hike down the bright angel trail, and while doing so we wondered how it got that name. We turned around to start the journey back up and saw this view, and then the name all of a sudden made sense.

  • I spent some time watching this coyote hunt for small rodents. Super fun to see him pouncing and digging his head deep in the snow. Interesting to note that some coyotes are better at this than others. This one was quite busy pouncing around but missed a lot. On another occasion I saw a more patient coyote that managed to grab 4 voles and mice with less effort in a period of just a few minutes.

  • @yellowstonenps should implement their plan to update internet and Wi-Fi in employee housing and developed areas: CHANGE MY MIND.
.
Here's the facts from the proposal:
- The new wireless equipment would be installed on existing structures in existing developed areas.
- NO towers or antennas will be installed in or servicing BACKCOUNTRY areas.
- Two microwave antennas would be put on the EXISTING antenna support structure on Mount Washburn. These antennas would deliver service to the DEVELOPED areas and would NOT broadcast Wi-Fi to visitors.
- There will be NO NEW towers installed under this application.
- The proposal would allow for the installation of 7 to 10-inch antennas to service EMPLOYEE housing and HOTELS in developed areas.
