One year ago I posted this photo capturing the struggle between a Great Egret and Bullfrog in the wetlands of Florida. While I immediately knew it was an exciting image, I never could have imagined how it would resonate with the rest of the world - it is my most reposted and talked about image, and has garnered well over a million likes, and been reposted in countries around the globe. For me, it captures the quintessential moment in any predator/prey relationship: the struggle to eat vs. the struggle to survive. Remarkably, the frog actually escaped what appears to be certain death, and the egret went on to continue stalking the shallows. When you are in nature, you never know when that spectacular moment will happen…Be ready, and always be observant! Thanks to everyone that has interacted with this photo in some way, your support cannot be overstated!

Between two Hemlocks. A cascade from the upper section of Gunpowder Falls can be seen between two beautiful hemlock trees, in the Prettyboy State Park. It snowed a few days prior and a little bit was sticking around on the rocks and grasses on the other side of the river.

You make me crazy, you make me wild
Just like a baby spin me round like a child
Your skin so gold and brown
Be young, be dope, be proud
Like an American, like an American
