I am not ready for winter yet! We had snow in Nashville, but I am still thinking about LA palm trees. Winter means that Spring is soon coming and then school year is over. To tell you the truth I am trying to hold onto the time I still have with my son before he goes to college. Going to the movies, playing ping-pong, listening to his play-list, helping him decorate his room with lights that move to the music beat, going to Disney, fixing him breakfast each morning and my "famous leche con chocolate" before bedtime. The reality of him growing up and leaving the nest gets more and more palpable as the days go by. We visited colleges, he started to send applications, I am filling out financial forms at the same time that I am looking for baby photos for his yearbook.
One of the things he has shared with me lately resonates with me a lot, he was talking to me about how much he enjoys skateboarding lately "Do you remember how I got this skateboard a couple of Christmas ago, but I didn't practice that much because I was afraid of falling? Well I know now that it is inevitable, I am going to fall, so I am prepared for it; I am learning how to fall and I am enjoying skating more than ever before!" As a mom I don't want him to suffer, I want to pave the road, but the only way he will master his skills is if I let him grow, fall, get up and enjoy the ride.
Time does not stop, are we enjoying what we like even if we need to get out of our comfort zone to experience things fully?
Palmer ute i mörk novemberkväll i Holland🍁🌴🍂.
