Let there be light ✨ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A few weeks ago I got to check out the @socality X #canyonlights event at @capilanosuspensionbridge before it opened to the public. It was a magical, misty morning and I 10/10 recommend paying them a visit this season! 🌲💛 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Now I'm off to NYC for some extra Christmas cheer and holiday adventures 🥰 What should I see while I'm there?!

I'm stuck at home today recovering after a minor surgery I had yesterday. So I'm basically just watching movies all day. If you haven't watched Booksmart I highly recommend it. It's hilarious.
Every time, someone is planning to come along on one of my hikes, they usually say something along the lines of: “but I’ll be going very slow and probably won’t keep up with you”. To which I always respond with: “no worries, I usually go at a decently slow pace so you’ll be just fine”.
Most of the people think that by saying that I’m just being nice, since I go hiking “SO MUCH”. But in all honesty, no matter how often I hike, it’s still difficult for me. Every time.
Sure, it does get a little bit easier if I’m consistent throughout the year. And yes, I do feel more comfortable on the trails than I did about five years ago. But going uphill with a backpack for extended periods of time is still exhausting no matter how much hiking you do.
I still have to push myself and remind myself of the reward awaiting for me at the top. And while it’s always worth it for me at the end of the day, it does not mean that the journey was “a breeze”. Although, there’s often a breeze or a windstorm on that can be experienced on the trail so there’s that.🤷🏻♀️
I sure do love a good misty #pnw morning 🌥 Views from our back deck are some of my favorite 💕

Just warning you all, I'm pretty upset with Instagram right now. The algorithm is absolutely killing a lot of creators (myself included), and they offer little by way of solutions. Thus, my response will be to flood my feed with all my best work, mix up my hashtags, implore you all to share them wherever/whenever you can, and hope for the best!

When I die
And the coroner cracks
Open my ribcage,
I hope a hundred butterflies
Fill the room,
I hope my stomach
Is a greenhouse
Filled with the warmest air
And the sweetest flowers,
I hope that fluttering feeling
Because your rays will continue to
Pour life in
My butterfly exhibit. ****************************

Coastal Lighting 🌊’
What a feeling to be out on the edge of the coast. Looking out at the ocean as far as the eye can see. Hiking along the rock bluffs, listening to the waves crash and taking a big breath of ocean air truly satisfies the soul. Hope everyone has a great Friday!

Continuing with favorite moments of 2019 👉 slide for a series of images. It was on this spring day that I met up with @jakeegbert to wander around and take photos. We hit some classic scenic spots and found some new (to us) views. From broad afternoon sunlight in the orchards, to wildflowers, to a nice glowing sunset way up in meandering hills, this day was just a lot of fun and good times of shooting and exploring new views! Aside from being an awesome photographer, Jake is just a good human; always cracking jokes, super down to earth and just as excited about new Mt Hood views as I am. A very memorable day in our own backyard 😃
| I want to spam you all with Winter Wonderland goodness, but there isn’t much Winter going on in Oregon. That’s okay, though; this is one of my favorite photos of 2019 (or ever) because I’m sitting on one of the biggest Redwoods in existence and I’m in love. 🧚🏼♀️ #treehugger
After this shot, the drone lost connection and started flying completely the opposite way on a low battery warning 😬 luckly got the connection back and landed on the palm of my hand. Didn't fly it after that 😂 @dji got work on your connection issues cmon now
I’m getting a little tired of the rain but tomorrow we leave for leavenworth so I’m not mad about it!

I think the original caption with this suits it well- the oceans motion!
And right now we are in the season of winter storms and lots of motion!
If you check out the coast be sure and respect the ocean, it’s a pretty powerful force of nature.
I can’t believe it’s only 12 days till Christmas 🎄

Today I was reminded of the Buddhist monks and their mandalas. They spend hours and years making them only to destroy them once they are done. This is to teach them the lesson that everything is temporary..pain, happiness, love, sorrow. Just remember when it's good to enjoy it while it last and when it's bad that it's not permanent. ♥️
I’ve been rocking my #JaybirdVista headphones all over the Pacific Northwest and I’m such a fan! They stay put in my ears, stay charged for hours on end, and stand up to drops, sweat, and the elements. So, I’m partnering with @jaybirdsport to give a pair away!
The rules are simple:
1. Follow @jaybirdsport.
2. Comment below and tell us where you’ll take them for your first #EarthProof adventure!
That’s it! Winner will be randomly selected and notified via DM on December 20, 2019. Good luck! #JaybirdVista
