  • I’m afraid of getting ‘bulky’.... 🤭
.
Ladies this may sound #CRAZY 🤪 but weight training will 👏 NOT 👏 make 👏 you ‘manly’ 🤗💃
.
Muscles need an ‘overload’ to gain size. Body weight movements are great for aerobic fitness and to keep the body active, but to gain definition & to get that ‘toned’ look, our bodies need progressive overload. (Adding weight, increasing weight, increasing reps, increasing sets) Our muscles need CHALLENGE 🔥
.
As females we genetically can not turn into Arnold Schwarzenegger 🤷‍♀️ it’s literally not possibly unless ‘extra curricular’ (*cough cough* drugs) are used!
.
So to all my strong beautiful women out there! I challenge you this week to add some resistance into your workout routine. Whether it is starting out with a 5lb dumbell or upping your weight for each exercise by 5lbs. 💪
.
My goal this week is to up each exercise by 1 set! (5 instead of 4 😈) set a goal & push yourself to reach it! Drop your new goal down below so I can cheer you on! 👇👏 #GirlPower #GirlsWhoLift #WomenEmpowerment

  • You #learn through personal experience more than anything and I've learned that a major key to #success is to surround yourself with the right people. Personal improvement leading to success is driven by other people. These will impact your thoughts and activities. Surrounding yourself with the wrong people will definitely hold you down. Here are 4 type of people you should look to have around. 1) The relentless worker, those who push you to work harder because of their true commitment and #passion which inspires us. 2) The #positive attitudes, people who tend to see things on the #brightside, these keep us #creative and #optimistic, always looking forward. 3) People who ask questions, as entrepreneurs we should constantly be asking questions to ourselves but people who ask questions may provide a different angle or idea, perspective is everything! 4) The dreamers, those who have big plans and drive, who are always hungry for more and who have similar #goals and #objectives in mind. A number of factors lead to success and surrounding yourself with negative, lazy people who don't share your passion, dreams, goals or work ethic is not one of them! You are the sum of who you spend your time with and a #businessowner is always busy growing on a daily basis. Make sure you are directly involved with those who lift, #inspire and #motivate you. Friends do come and go, you will change and so will they. Learn to let go and as you grow, that may mean changing friends and colleagues. That's part of life!

Focusing on the specific steps of a craft can help one to practice mindfulness, express emotions, and stay in the moment.
.
Join the OSVRSE on November 20 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Brown Student Services Building, Room 3001, for a self-care through crafting event before finals begin.
.
This free event is open to all, no crafting experience required. Come relax, eat some snacks, drink some tea and get creative! All crafting materials will be provided, however if you would like to bring your own materials (like old magazines you want to recycle), you are also welcome to do so.

Accessibility:
The Brown Student Services building is accessible by wheelchair. There is an elevator at the basement level all the way to the 5th floor. There are accessible washrooms on both the second and third floor. Gender-neutral bathrooms are available on the second floor (next to room #2003); on the third floor (between #3004 & #3110); and on the fifth floor (next to #5100). This event is scent-reduced to minimize risk for people with environmental sensitivities, allergies and asthma. Please refrain from wearing perfumed products both before and to the event.

For any questions regarding accessibility or attendance, please email osvrse@mcgill.ca. **We would like to acknowledge that McGill University is located on unceded lands which have traditionally served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst diverse indigenous peoples. The Kanien’kehà:ka/People of the Flint (Mohawk), who are a founding nation of the Haudenosaunee/People of the Longhouse (Iroquois) Confederacy, are recognized as the traditional stewards of the lands and waters.**

There is a shocking surprise at the end of the episode that Tim shares - you don't want to miss it!

  • ~ PICK ENCOURAGING FRIENDS
Are you picking your friends wisely?
—————————
The friends and people you choose to surround yourself with genuinely has a MASSIVE impact on your overall wellbeing and Mental Health. Choose them wisely.
•
They say ‘you can’t pick your family, but you can pick your friends.’ This is the TRUTH! You need to be smart enough to surround your energy with only uplifting and encouraging souls. Their support, love, help and kindness is what can truly pick you up when feeling down or remind you how amazing you are when feeling up!
•
Focus on picking friends who make you feel GOOD overall. None of us are perfect of course. However, we are the ones who decide who to give more energy to and who to avoid and distance our energy from... so once again, choose your friends wisely and always be there for them through the hard times and the good.

  • ~ STAY DISTANT FROM DISTRACTIONS
👇🏽Continue Reading
—————————
Let’s be real. We ALL have distractions in our life. It could be anything. But to simplify a distraction - it’s something that takes us away from actions towards our dreams and goals. That’s it.
•
So whatever those distractions are for you, try to limit them or best case scenario would be to distant yourself away from them so you have no choice but to take action on the long term vision you have in your mind.
•
It’s not easy. Trust me, I personally know that! However, it’s the mindset we possess around countering those distractions that truly matters after all. Stay focused. It’s tough, but we must try our very best if we want the desired dreams to come true one day.

How do you avoid distractions?

So whatever those distractions are for you, try to limit them or best case scenario would be to distant yourself away from them so you have no choice but to take action on the long term vision you have in your mind.

It’s not easy. Trust me, I personally know that! However, it’s the mindset we possess around countering those distractions that truly matters after all. Stay focused. It’s tough, but we must try our very best if we want the desired dreams to come true one day.

Thank you to everyone who’s already completed – you’re helping make McGill a safe, respectful and inclusive learning environment for all. If you haven’t yet completed the program on myCourses, don’t forget that all students need to complete by November 29th or a hold will impact your course registration for Winter 2020 and future semesters. Graduating students and those who have already registered for future semesters are also required to complete the program.
.
For more information about the program, visit mcgill.ca/sv-education or email sv-education@mcgill.ca The website contains lots of helpful FAQs to facilitate your experience before, during, and after completing the program.

  • These are words from my dear friend @abby_compton_oneil who I met by saying yes to enhancing my health as well as a better financial way for my family: “If you told me saying yes to a healthy lifestyle & being open to a “new way” of doing business would have lead me here...... I would have called your crazy. •
NOW I get SOOOOOO excited to share T H I S with others!
•
Not everyone wants to own a virtual business, travel the world, and create residual income. BUT I know some people DO- and I’m ready for YOU! •
We DO work hard. We DO have the most incredible products. We DO make an impact & help people transform physically & financially. •
Owning a business is never easy. Owning a business is real HARD work. If it were easy EVERYONE would be doing it. It may be a simple business concept BUT it won’t make you “get rich” quick nor should anyone tell you that you can own a business and create income by doing “nothing”. •
This industry is beautiful, life changing, amazing, and REAL. Don’t ever be sold that it’s easy and people don’t work HARD. We do and I am PROUD of the companies doing it right.
There is a “new way” and it’s creating a wave of change around the world.” Are you open?
