  • Yesterday I had a SELF-CARE SUNDAY. After a week of very long show days, late nights and get out at the theatre on Saturday night, I was exhausted!

I knew the sensible thing to do was have a day of rest! I just enjoyed watching some TV, chilling out in bed, lots of cups of tea and eating lovely home made food.

Emotionally after a contract ends, like with shows, after the high of the shows, the stress, the nerves, the excitement, it is important to give yourself a chilled out day for emotional rest too.

Today I started the new week with a plan, got my to-do list at the ready and some new goals to start working on!

Off to the cinema tonight with Lewis, time for a date night 😁

  • It’s hard to hear the voice of God when we are busy listening to ourselves all the time... Psalm 46:10 says “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Perhaps the solution to defeating tiredness, fear, anxiety, and the many other troubles in our lives is to simply surrender them to God and seek His presence often!

  • Мы все порой неуверены в своём собственном выборе, и это нам так мешает на самом деле. Знаете, я очень часто задумываюсь 'а вдруг у меня не получится? а вдруг я не смогу это сделать? научиться?', но блин, все что нам надо, так это начать. To start. А потом уже будь что будет. Главное не боятся и пробовать. Когда я меняла специальность(направление) с ДАСа(дизайн архитектурной среды) на ПИ(программная инженерия), то еще думала 'а вдруг пожалею? вдруг мне не понравится..', но не смотря на эти мысли, я все же решила попробовать. Жизнь то у насы одна и мы должны пробовать все, все равно перепробовать все и за всю жизнь не успеем. 
Кстати, в итоге я не пожалела. Я рада что набралась смелости и решилась на этот шаг. Мне вокруг все твердили, начиная с родителей до всех возможных родстаенних и друзей семьи, что ДАС отличная профессия и что я пожалею, но нет. Это не их жизнь и не они этим занимаются. 
Не бойтесь никогда перемен. Помните :"Все что ни делается все к лучшему.".

I just want to take this time to remind you all as we are coming into the crazy time of year that we all need to have a break sometimes. 
And that it's ok. 
It's ok to throw your hands in the air and say I need a breather. 
It's ok to call on your support systems. If you don't tell them they don't know and they can't help you. 
It's ok to turn away from this crazy world every now and then and seek inner peace. 
In fact it's not just ok, its necessary. 
Invest in yourself because you are worth it.

  • Lay your head on my pillllooooww, and just relax, relax, relax 🎶 🎵 (in my @tonytonitoneofficial voice... Listen, when your body says rest do so... you’ll be much better for it. You will have signals along the way when you are pushing yourself too hard for too long. 
After awhile those signals turn into demands and your exhausted mind & body just wont let you go any further without rejuvenating.
Rest is a part of living intentionally and it’s also a part of being successful! Real talk! 
It’s also ok to say I NEED A BREAK but even more ok to take that break.

Overreaching, on the other hand, is "an accumulation of training and/or non-training stress resulting in short-term decrements in performance capacity with or without related physiological and psychological signs and symptoms of overtraining in which restoration of performance capacity may take from several days to a few weeks" (172).⁣

If anything, you might be overreaching, which is the precursor to overtraining, and a bit milder.⁣
⁣
This is where you can get into trouble trying to put too much on your shoulders - and why recovery is so important.⁣

If you have a high stress job, troubled personal relationships, and are working out 5-6 days week intensely, you’re setting up yourself for some of these symptoms.⁣
⁣
Your best bet is to manage your stress, take a week off occasionally, take off 1-3 days per week minimum, and get plenty of rest.⁣
⁣
Don’t forget, incorporating lots of healthy fruits and vegetables as well as plenty of lean protein. Supply your body with the nutrients it craves.⁣

These vital nutrients will also help you recover properly.⁣

You are holding a cup of coffee when someone comes along and bumps into you or shakes your arm, making you spill your coffee everywhere.

Why did you spill the coffee? "Because someone bumped into me!!!" Wrong answer.

You spilled the coffee because there was coffee in your cup. 
Had there been a shirley temple in the cup, you would have spilled your shirley temple. *Whatever is inside the cup is what will spill out.* Therefore, when life comes along and shakes you (which WILL happen), whatever is inside you will come out. It's easy to fake it, until you get rattled. *So we have to ask ourselves... “what's in my cup?"* When life gets tough, what spills over?

Joy, gratefulness, peace and humility? 
Anger, bitterness, harsh words and reactions? 
Life provides the cup, YOU choose how to fill it. 
Today let's work towards filling our cups with gratitude, forgiveness, joy, words of affirmation; and kindness, gentleness and love for others. (Shared from a friend whose cup is full of goodness and inspiration!!)
