  • IT WASN’T HER MOMENT…
.
But she came out to support mine.❤️Growing up, my best friend @courtneyjean & I both LOVED school & studying- total nerds! We also ended up being each other’s direct competition in everything academic. In 4th grade, I won the spelling bee & Court came in second (she won the year before & wanted to win just as bad as I did). I got to compete at the Regional Spelling Bee Competition & Court came to watch me & encourage me- she brought me a note to read before, encouraging me & letting me know she was praying for me. She taught me that you could be competitive, & really want something, & also so genuinely want well for others. Court was my biggest competition academically all the way through high school- but we were also each others’ biggest cheerleaders!👯‍♀️🥰
.
I feel like what’s typical is to see something that challenges us & to feel insecure & threatened- & not feel like wishing that person well. But we can change the narrative & really look out for each other, share the secrets to our success, & challenge & encourage each other.
.
❤️It’s never you or her. NEVER. It may be her time now- but your time IS COMING. Your dreams aren’t affected by someone else’s dreams coming true. Don’t let jealousy rob you of the joy for her & hope for your future.
.
❤️Fear tells you that success is scarce. Abundance & faith tell you there is MORE THAN ENOUGH to go around & your time is coming.
.
❤️Strong women support each other & help each other. They aren’t afraid to give another girl a leg up because they are confident in their own journey. They don’t view others’ success through the lens of insecurity- but with a confidence that another’s success doesn’t threaten or lessen their own.
.
❤️Let’s be willing to help out our sisters, to really REALLY root for their success, to TRULY believe that their success doesn’t take away from our shine. This world is big enough for a million stars in the sky. Let’s remember that! 😌
.
❤️He who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.- Prov. 11:25. Let’s be each other’s biggest cheerleaders, mentors, support system- everything that WE would want in return.
.
Let’s be teammates, not competitors.❤️

Amo vc!
.

.
.
Vinden jullie dit belangrijk? Of lopen jullie er maar op los? 😂

Running with illness, should you or shouldn’t you ? 🤔
.
Running with the flu is a big no no! 🙅🏻‍♂️🙅🏼‍♀️ although running with a cold depending on your symptoms can be ok! If your glands are swollen, you have headaches and body aches then you are best to stay in and recover! However, towards the end of illness when your a bit congested running can help clear the remains of your illness. 💪🏼
.
To make sure you recover properly after illness, gradually getting back into a normal routine is the best piece of advice! If you normally run 6miles, do 4miles and if you normally run at 8.30mins/mile run at 9mins/mile. Making sure you recover properly is vital for your own health and getting back to running as quickly as possible! It’s better to take a couple of days off than couple of weeks!

  • 8 hours of sleep 😴 ✅
had a cup of tea and a snack ✅
brought kids to school ✅
did something I have never done ✅
Today for the first time ever, I did a true #speed workout. 5 x 400m @ 6:45 avg. pace. I wanted to go for 8, but it was hard!!! I’m totally ok with starting here & asking my hubby to go for a bike ride when he gets home. And maybe a cup of coffee. 😂🥰 #runhappy #womenrunning #runningmotivation #oiselle #run #workhard #nofear

  • On a bitterly cold and windy morning, over 400 runners took part in this very popular race of the which is also the final event in TRAC calendar for 2019.
This years Alan Green Memorial 10 Mile Race was an overwhelming success. Thank you to everyone who either raced, marshalled or supported this event, it wouldn’t be the same without you. Thank you also to @bayrunningshop for sponsoring our event. We hope to see you all again next year. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🎽#alangreenmemorial10mile #Thanet10 📸 @funkydooby

  • Went for a run and tried not to think about things. First outing in the new Nike React Infinity Run. It’s a versatile trainer that I think will be a great option for easy and long runs in particular, even if it’s not going to be your best option for speed days. The large stack height and rocker is very Hoka-y, but I prefer the feel of the React foam to Hoka’s stuff myself. The shoe comes with some lofty claims about reducing injury risk. I spoke to VP of Nike Running Brett Holts yesterday and he suggested that this will be backed up with guided running programmes through Nike’s apps, which will be more important imo – injuries are generally caused by running too much, too soon, or bad luck, rather than not having the right shoe on your foot. Anyway, I’m burying the lead. The best thing about today’s run? I matched pace and distance without realising (I run in K, thanks to @benhobson for tipping me off) #running #infinityrun #nike @nikelondon

  • Resistance band work for my lower body and weights for my upper body. Seated rows PR of 145 lbs 💪 💪
I’m learning more and more that when it comes to trauma, the body really does keep the score. I released a large amount of stored traumatic energy on Tuesday. It didn’t feel large, but I feel soooooo much better. I realize the role that fitness has played in my journey: movement. The human body craves movement. I’ve always tried to think and problem-solve my way out of everything, but the body needs to move and feel its way back to a regulated nervous system.
No one could tell me this before. Everyone who tried to help gave me information that may have treated symptoms at the time but never addressed the root cause. I guess trauma wasn’t as well understood back then. I’m now giving myself the treatment that I need and feeling incredible. Movement movement movement, through whatever makes you (and me) feel good!
