  • BURNOUT: OVERTRAINING’S LIL SIS💁🏻‍♀️

Usually overtraining comes with a side of BURNOUT- it’s full spirit, mind, body TAP OUT from the grind. When I see people complaining about lack of motivation & how to circumvent that- I think- don’t circumvent it- listen to yourself- your mind is protecting your body. Everything is super interconnected.
.
Running is already tough when you’re SO motivated— but when you’re dragging yourself around because you’re burned out- you have to say WHY?! If your career doesn’t depend on this- then what’s keeping you chained to something not bringing you joy at the moment?! I promise- if you loosen your grip- ALL THAT JOY YOU HAD FOR RUNNING WILL COME BACK.❤️

👉🏽Burnout looks like: no desire to run, anxiety about all things running, unable to mentally engage in workouts. When I lost my joy for running, everything running related caused me anxiety, fear, & insecurity- I knew things had to change.😥

🦋ASSESS ROOT CASUSE
Are you burned out because you’re running too much volume physically? Is your schedule not working for you? Is outside stress taking away your motivation to run?

🦋ASSESS YOUR NEEDS
Taking a break between seasons is SUPER recommended-& preventative- you may not feel like you need it- but it can help prevent physical injuries & keeps your mind fresh.
Mid-marathon training it’s pretty normal to feel a little burned out- a week of easy running before resuming workouts can help!! If I’m feeling burned out- I’ll take a day or 2 off- see if that helps? And if not- take a little more time. PS if you’re flexible with your schedule & give yourself permission to take the day off- it can prevent it from getting more severe.

🦋PIVOT
Your habits keep you going- you just need to pause or shift them. Sometimes a break from the pressure can really help- I’ll do a whole season with just EZ running/no race pressure to get things back in balance. By knowing what the cause is & what you need- you can adjust!

It takes being physically & mentally healthy to succeed & to ENJOY what we are doing. What’s all of this worth if we don’t even like it?😌

Happy CIM weekend!!! This photo takes me back to a different time ✌️I ran my PR at CIM in 2018 and it quickly turned into my favorite marathon. Everything about this race is top notch and the energy is unreal. I was planning to run again this year, but life happened and I wasn’t quite ready to go for the 26.2. But that’s ok bc there’s always another marathon 🙂. My biggest tip for CIM... respect the rollers in the first half!! They are real and they can zap you if you don’t control yourself. Aim to negative split. Go out slow and the second half will reward you! Once you go over J street bridge at mile 22 it’s downhill/flat as you start the descent into downtown Sacramento toward the finish. That’s your time to go!! Good luck! I’ll be tracking y’all. You got this ❤️

Свобода слова и личное мнение вдруг заимели искаженный смысл⠀

What happened to my foot in a nutshell:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I broke the 2nd metatarsal bone in my left foot in Sept. It may have happened on a walk with Diego (my 90 lb. pupper).⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It wasn't diagnosed at Urgent Care & walked around on it for 3 weeks before an MRI showed it was a complete break.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

This is really the first time ever I've had a legit injury!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I had IT Band Syndrome when I first started running full marathons about 9 years ago. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Looking at it now - that was so much easier to deal with because I could do a lot more than I could in a boot!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

[TRAIL DES REMPARTS DE VERVINS]
Trail de 11km avec de la route, de la forêt, de la gadoue, des côtes et des escaliers ! 🤪 Je démarre en me disant « essaye de tenir une bonne allure » contrairement à d’habitude où je commence doucement au cas où je sois trop fatiguée après (ouai ouai je sais, prévoyante la meuf... 🤣). Au final je mène mon petit bout de chemin tranquillement et là, c’est le drame ! Mi-parcours, une dame me dépasse en me disant « vous m’avez déjà doublé une fois vous, pas deux! » mais pas du tout sur le ton de la plaisanterie ! 😱 elle délire grand-mère là ! Pour qui elle se prend celle là ?? Je reprends à peine les courses, je me remets dedans en me battant contre mon mental d’huître, en essayant de me dépasser moi même et Josette vient ramener sa fraise !! 😤😡 je suis en colère, elle ne me connait pas et vient de toucher mon moral en plein fouet ! Je continues et m’aperçois que Josette m’a peut être doublé mais elle est loin de m’avoir déposé ! Enfin, tant pis elle passera sa ligne d’arrivée toute contente sauf si le karma vient lui peter les deux jambes entre temps (ouai je suis comme ça aussi 😇). Et 500m plus tard, ma Josette qui s’arrête au ravito ! Oh ben ma Josette, la deuxième fois où je passe devant toi elle est juste là pendant que tu t’abreuves goulûment ! Puis 1km plus tard elle me double à nouveau dans une côte, moi en haut de la côte je la re dépose et là vous savez pas ?? Grand-mère râle ! Non mais j’y crois pas ! Elle est vraiment en train de se battre pour la 148e place de la course à la saucisse là ? Bref, elle me double à nouveau 1km plus loin, je la colle dans la dernière côte et la re dépose juste avant la ligne d’arrivée ! J’ai eu le droit au regard super méchant de Josette à la fin ! Et moi je suis heureuse ! Je n’ai jamais été ultra compétitive, je n’ai malheureusement pas l’esprit de compétition mais aujourd’hui je me suis dit « allez, je vais essayer, elle est méchante, j’aurais pas de regret » 😂
Enfin voilà, je suis un peu triste de ce genre de comportement, elle ne me connaît pas et ne sait pas contre quoi je me bats donc chut Madame Josette !! 😄
Enfin, je finis 130/~400 en 1h07 et je suis fière de moi ! 🤩🤩

A Valverde sempre em busca do melhor para seus atletas com a parceria da @brow_sports , traz um trabalho progressivo de preparação para a principal prova do Rio de janeiro e convida a todos , para vir conosco e embarcar nesta preparação .
Preparamos com muito carinho 5 simulados um por mês sendo o primeiro 18/01 com distância inicial de 12km preparação para os 21km e ,15km iniciando a preparação para Maratona .
Teremos também para incentivar os atletas uma premiação para o primeiro de cada faixa etária e os três atletas independente do sexo e faixa etária no último treinamento que será 23/05, quem acumular mais números de vitórias das etapas anteriores , irá receber um lindo troféu e uma premiação que será divulgada nos eventos .
Então galera não fiquem de fora as vagas serão limitadas e terá um valor simbólico para cobrir as despesas , vamos oferecer , café da manhã , água , isotônico , frutas , terá pontos de hidratação no percurso , além do treino ser cronometrado com chip e numero de peito 😉.
