Tras mear detrás de una grúa porque las colas de los lavabos siempre están a reventar y pisar una mierda 💩 (que no era de perro) nada podía salir mal 😂⁣

Suena el disparo de salida 💨 y como siempre la gente se vuelve loca 😝 pero me controlo y mantengo el ritmo que quería llevar (3:40/km) y así van pasando los km por las calles de valencia y su gente animando! 🗣⁣

📍km5 y sigo disfrutando pero el ritmo empieza a ser exigente y de repente aparece @jordimr_coach por detrás que ha conseguido pillarme (ya que salía del cajón de atrás) y viene a ayudarme hasta meta 😍⁣
⁣
📍Los km empiezan a costar 😅 pero la zona del centro es increíble 🎉 y me vengo arriba con cada canción que suena 🎵, con cada grito del público 👏🏼 y junto a Jordi que no para de animarme para que aguante! ⁣

📍Últimos 800m: Entramos en la Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias & se me pone la piel de gallina! 🙈⁣

Toca apretar dientes 😬 y acabar fuerte 💪🏼 (a 3:33 el último km) ⁣
Ya veo la pasarela azul y el crono... Jordi me dice “disfruta estos últimos metros” y vaya si los disfruté 🙌🏼⁣

This season is supposed to be about time with family and friends, recounting the year past, and looking forward to a bright future. Somehow, it ends up being a stess filled time used as an excuse NOT to care for yourself

8 days in to December and I've had to tell too many clients to fill their own cup first. You cannot pour from an empty cup. You MUST care for yourself if you want to be any good to the people around you

I've said this before and it's been met with eye rolls: "easy for you to say" they reply. False. It's not easy. I'm not always motivated to get to the gym and too often I'd love to find/use/creat from thin air an excuse to just not. Can I just not?! That doesn't do anyone ANY good

You MUST find time for YOU so you can be your BEST for others. One more time: fill. your. cup. first! Find/use/create from thin air the time to take care of yourself or else what are we even doing here, ya know!?!

Hoksasin tänään joogatunnilla taas yhden näkökulman siihen, miten jooga tasapainottaa mun juoksuharrastusta. Olen suorittajaluonne; aina pitää kehittyä ja saavuttaa tavoitteita. Nautin itseni haastamisesta ihan valtavasti ja saan parhaan fiiliksen siitä, kun huomaan kehittyväni. Joogasalissa tää tavoitekeskeisyys ja suorittaminen kuitenkin katoaa. Kummallista kyllä, mutta en mieti lainkaan, millaiseen asanaan olen viimeksi taipunut tai kuinka vetreästi vierustoveri venyy. Pyrin keskittymään käsillä olevaan hetkeen, olemaan läsnä itselleni ja lempeä omaa kehoani kohtaan. Kuuntelemaan, mihin se minäkin päivänä pystyy ja mitä se tarvitsee. En vaatimaan siltä asioita samalla tavalla kun juoksussa tai salilla. Ja yllätyksekseni olenkin onnistunut tässä! ☺️ Tsemppiä kaikille alkavaan viikkoon 💛🙏

It's all too common for runners of all abilities to experience doubt. It happens during training runs. It happens on the starting line. It happens at mile 16 of a marathon. It even happens while laying in bed trying to sleep. In happens anytime, anywhere.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Your mind is conditioned to follow the patterns we develop. If you aren't careful, your mind will build a path that is negative and full of doubt.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you allow your mind to dwell on the past, you will feel regret.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you allow your mind to dwell on the future, you will feel anxiety and fear.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But if you keep your mind grounded in the present, you are able to convert your thoughts into action. Being able to control what you can do now is important.

So the next time you are feeling regret or anxiety, ask yourself, "What can I do right now?" And then do it and celebrate that decision.

  • So today was interesting, I have started a new routine. Basically I've joined the gym, I know, i know i have changed but don't hate me.

A couple of times a week i will be working on my upper body for the first time in my life. I know what you are all thinking, " but David you have the body of a god". You would be right but i wish to be a slightly more toned and stronger sexy god.
.
2 miles warm up to the gym, did all the upper body machines twice. Then I worked on leg strength focusing on calf and the back of my legs. I went to the weights and did a little bit but not a great deal. Hit the steps machine for 10mins and then 6 miles on the treadmill at no16 setting 💁‍♂️ fuck knows how fast I was going but I sweat enough to fill up Loch Ness.

Recently I have been kindly gifted and enjoying 2 magazines - Like the Wind and Running Threads (@likethewindmag x @lululemon collaboration special edition). Through fabulous stories, articles, photos and illustrations Like the Wind share why we run. The first Running Threads has wonderful stories from the community 💙 .

So I'd like to share with you one very personal part of my own running journey - how running helped me find some wonderful friends and improve my own mental wellbeing. It's one of the many reasons I run.

With my self esteem at rock bottom, my first outdoor run was a run in the dark where no-one could see me (writing this makes me sad for past me 😥) but I kept on going, trying to set a good example for the smallest one in my life. Slowly but surely I gained a newfound confidence, my anxiety lessened and I found my sense of adventure. Under 2 years later, I have been to races on my own, started to speak to people I don't know (mainly at races but also in the queue in the shop 😂) and I have gained many new wonderful, encouraging friends. And it turns out they'll even go on big adventures with me, too! Looking at you 2020 👀 .

My proudest moment so far was standing on a step ladder briefing 600+ runners through a megaphone with new friends by my side!. I don't mind who sees me running now and I most definitely don't hide away (have you seen my outfits?! 🤭) .

And the great thing? I'm still a work in progress 👍. I never thought of myself as the type of person to run, but it's amazing what you can do, who you can meet, who you can help and who will help you when you just put one foot in front of the other.

Today’s mission was to purely just listen to my body and keep the pace even!!
•
Lately I’ve found myself getting faster and faster during a run and then suddenly 💥
•
🥵 I overcook it 😂 •
So today was about pulling it back every time I noticed this happening.
Didn’t have too much time so could only spare about 45mins.
•
Happy to report I was pleased with how my mind cooperated 🙌🏻😁
•
