It’s day 1 at the holiday bazaar and Christmas hats are a hit! 🎄 I know what’s on my to-do list this weekend! ❤️ 💚 ❤️ 💚 ❤️ 💚 ❤️ If you still need to order your Santa hats, let me know. I’ll put yours on my list too!
Even in war some events can bring a sence of peace, honor, pride, camradery, and mutual respect. Not many events can prove these feelings as much as the 1914 #Christmas truce on the western front of #WW1 . The Christmas truce was an unofficial ceasefire between many trenches of the western front, involving British, French, and German soldiers. In many areas the troops from both sides ventured into the no man's land, (the area between enemy trenches filled with barbed wire, many wounded and killed soldiers and mass devastation from the unending bombardment from artillery fire). On Christmas Eve German soldiers decorated their trenches with candles, Christmas trees, and started singing Christmas carols. The Brits responded in kind singing their own Christmas carols. Both sides started yelling Christmas greetings to one another, then sometime later they all met inside of no man's land. Upon meeting the enemy soldiers, they started exchanging gifts, such as buttons, food, tobacco and alcohol.
Possibly just a day before Christmas Eve, they may have been shooting at each other, then they are smiling and shaking hands. I guess even in war, the spirit of Christmas can prevail. ~i have utmost respect for #Veterans , of all nations. Thank you all for your service!~ #History#War#Peace#Service#Combat#life#Death#Suffering#Pride#Honor#WorldWar#Britain#Germany#France#America#Santa#Gifts#ChristmasCarol#Decorations
We hope you and your pup will join The Farm at the Historic Leiper's Fork Christmas Parade, Saturday, December 14th!
With everything from alpacas to antique tractors, you never know what you'll see in this fun and quirky parade.
This is just about the most fun you can have with your dog this holiday season. We will have a red Farm bandana for every dog that joins us as we walk in the parade. Festive outfits would be fun but are not required. DO dress for the weather!
Attendees are asked to bring a donation (cash or goods) for Williamson County Animal Shelter. If you and your pup are unable to walk with us, please come out and cheer us on!
The parade starts at 2 p.m. but it's a very popular event and you will get stuck in traffic if you are not there by 1 p.m.-- so come early and enjoy some holiday drinks with us!
