  • By @sideytheshark: Plastic pollution has received a lot of attention for its effects on marine animals. During feeding #whalesharks swallow hundreds to thousands of cubic metres of water daily, meaning there is the potential for them to take in substantial amounts of microplastic floating in the water. And look at the size of that mouth 😲

💙🐋 @pxlexplorer - “My most emotional encounter to date. I was so particular about how to convey this experience to you all. This one was extremely special. To me the details were so important with this story, the closed eyelids, the pecs down not up, the light, the lines, the shadows, space, the hues… it goes on. I would like to and I want to, thank you all for loving this shot and for all your support and fellowship AND especially for being there in the experience with me.
I am extremely and incredibly grateful for every moment that I can share and to and my other hero’s for their wealth of knowledge and inspiration.”

OMS Roller Bag - riesiger, sehr leichter Rollenrucksack - 145 Liter, graues LOGO

https://www.tauchversand.com/oms-roller-bag-145-liter-in-grau?c=3609

  • Dancing at a depth of 1,600 meters, the NautilusLive team spotted this elegant octopus billowing its arms like a circus tent while exploring southwest of Baker Island in the Pacific Remote Islands Marine National Monument. Experts believe the cephalopod belongs to Cirroteuthidae, a family of cirrate octopuses, but the exact species is unknown. Little is known about Cirroteuthid octopuses, other than that they often swim or drift near the seabed at depths of over 2,000m where light does not penetrate the cold waters.
