Sometimes it’s lonely in the bus....not cause I’m “alone” I have a dog.. but because Everest likes to lay until the sun goes down outside and enjoy the view ..and bark/growl if anyone comes within 10 ft. He’s turned into such a good camping guard dog, I don’t even look out the window anymore.. maybe takes himself to go the bathroom or explore a bit but always comes back laying by the door. ⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⠀⠀

Most unique skoolie paint job on a skoolie? Gotta give @theskooledyogi credit! Countless hours for taping and paint prep, 9 gallons of paint(including primer), 5 hours of painting, for this amazing job! .
For thoose of you wondering why we disappeared the last few days, it's because Instagram deactivated our account. We apparently went against their policy. But after we appealed it they recovered our account and told us it was a mistake. Imagine waking up one morning and seeing that 4 years of work was gone like nothing 😔 it was very stressful and heartbreaking. 💔
So it's great to finally be back, and we're thankful for each and every single one of you! 💖
Make sure you follow our backup @vanlifedistrict in case something like this happens again.
We also got more amazing content coming out soon based on the reccomendations of our community. So stay tuned for that. 😉

I was reminded when I saw this photo Mike snapped of how lucky I am. Seven years ago, I walked down a dirt path toward a lake edge where he stood waiting for me and said I do to my forever travel buddy.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And last year, when I said, "Darling, let's be adventurers full-time", he dived right in with me.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
After the last two weeks of settling in, we took Oly out for his first real road trip since being converted to celebrate our 7 year anniversary, disappearing into the woods and losing our wifi signal for a glorious four day weekend.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I cooked pasta in our kitchen and we read books on the couch until the moon came up. We listened to road tunes and stopped in little rock shops and sat side by side on a rock jutting out over the creek we parked by.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In a word, it was magic. Everything we dreamed of when we said yes to this life.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As we drove, Edward Sharpe's "Home" came on, and it's never been more fitting than in that moment, driving our bus down the highway.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
"Ah, home, let me go home⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Home is wherever I'm with you."⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Now that we're back in wifi range - happy anniversary to my home. I'll go anywhere and everywhere with you, especially if it's in this bus. ⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⚋⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

This is not a recent photo as I am currently writing this in my sweatpants and oversized hoodie as I feel terrible and tired today. I wanted to do a throw back picture since I really want to give this guy a HUGE shoutout for taking care of me, our family and our home bus, Alex. Who takes care of you when you aren’t having a great day? ✨
Baby’s first long distance drive (since the conversion) 🚍🎀200 interstate miles in for the day. 360 miles tomorrow, wish us luck! Any skoolies out there in East Tennessee? #homeiswhereyouparkit#skoolielife
So cool... You know we all love a good rooftop deck story!!! Meet Ethan and Cass... They live in their 40 foot Skoolie full-time with their 2 dogs and are loving road-life. Full tour goes live on Saturday!⠀

from everything I’ve read and watched, an air chisel was the way to go for removing rivets and I can definitely say everyone was right. Never in my life did I think I would be so excited for a power tool
here’s what we followed:
One of our biggest concerns when building our #schoolbusconversion was that we wouldn’t have enough counter space! Despite having a double sink (which may seem crazy, but it helps a TON when doing dishes), we have had no complaints about our kitchen space including it’s storage! There’s enough room for both of us to move around and prepare our meals. #aimlesstravels
"The ceiling framing is in! This has been a part of the build we’ve looked forward to for well over a year! I remember sitting down with Luke at @skoolie_com ages ago and brainstorming. His creative juices got flowing and well... here we are!
You’re looking at a custom architectural roof design featuring some really impressive details like built in off lighting and curves for days!
Just another example of the one-of-a-kind touches @skoolie_com is capable of. We are so thankful to have their help!
I mean, just look at HOW COOL! 😍" - @theflowstatebus

"Really feeling the videos this week. Here’s another walkthrough of the bus! 🙌🏻🚌" - @happyhomebodies
If watching these videos is all I could ever do on Instagram, I would be OKAY with that. 💖💖💘🥰😍
Thank you for taking life by the bus and going forward with your goals and dreams, we are all better for it. LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS BUS!

My summer spot in the mountains... it's got at least a couple feet of snow now!
3925 December, 2019
Guess the day! It's #travelingthursday !
An area near and dear to my heart, an area that I've spent the last five years of my life exploring. From the hills, to the high elevation lakes. Montana is a place I called home.
Life is an adventure. If you're unhappy the way you are living it, change! We are all explorers at heart, and we seek the desire to travel. Take charge, and make some changes!
Changes and big plans are in the near future
Who wants a heavy dose of honesty?🙋♀️
Right now George and I are going through a seriously difficult time in our marriage. Some things have happened that are really challenging our trust and relationship. It hurts. It’s hard but we’re trying to do the best we can to work through it. Your support during this time is everything, so thank you in advance.
We’re trying to work on getting out of Chicago, but the lawsuit is hanging us up a bit, George got a job at Kohl’s working overnights for holiday, and the dogs are having some issues.
When we leave, we’re worried how we will get them food, how we will afford the food (changes have occurred that we’re not planned for), how we can keep up with the laundry needs for the dogs as it stands... needless to say we are stressed.
I am working so hard to not let tomorrows troubles take away today’s peace.
It feels like everything in my life is so unsteady. It feels like everything is falling apart around me. It feels hopeless if I am being honest.
I’m simply taking it a task, and a day, at a time because there is not much else I can do. I’ve been working on doing some freelance design work which is always nice for the money and the creative outlet. Many don’t know I have a bachelors degree fine art with a concentration in graphic design. Now you know! 😊 I’ve found my degree is coming in handy with my redbubble shop too! Major bonus! ☘️
If you have time today, please take a look at givengracelife.redbubble.com and leave me some feedback in the comments. Or if you’d rather, maybe leave me some positive vibes so that I can recharge off your energy. I’m a little blue and could use a boost.
I appreciate you all, so very much and never take for granted the kindness you offer.

I'm never going to be able to get out of here.
There are so many projects that I should've finished over the summer and now can't do because of the temperature and snow. Believing in myself being able to do this is one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made. Even if I could put the bus inside again to finish the things that need to be done in a warmer temperature (which I can't) I can't move it anywhere until it is registered and insured again. I don't know how to go about changing the title to RV and finding insurance, and I couldn't afford it even if I did. I had been waiting on my backed Canadian taxes to do this, but I've been waiting on them for over a year now. Someone I thought was a friend told me she would do them but after months of being told "I'll get to them this weekend." I'm giving up all hope on that and reconfirming that I should never rely on anyone for anything and to never trust people's word. I can't even trust myself anymore because all of this is completely my fault for ever buying this bus that I have come to hate so much.
Another exciting cheap find! I found these old medicine cabinets at a habitat for humanity restore for $10 each. They have a click lock and open upwards which is exactly what I wanted. I’m going to angle grind off the back corner to fit them to the curve of the roof and put frosted plexiglass in the front and of course a fresh coat of paint and some cute hardware. Can’t believe my luck in finding exactly what I wanted for so cheap. Restore is the best. .
🚌 🗺 The adventure begins here !! 🗺🚌
After over 6 months in Canada to work, Pat, Minca & I (Cat) are back in Peru to meet our bus back for the third and last stretch of our trip across the Americas.
We have already spent a week in Lima, Peru's capital in order to get the bus ready for the upcoming months:
🔋 2 new batteries
🚜 Tire rotation
🚌 Tire balancing
🧼 Huge clean up
On top we also did numerous visits at customs, insurance and other paperwork that needed to be done before we leave. 🛃 📝
We are finally leaving for our next destination: Paracas National Preserve, Ica 🇵🇪
Photos to come shortly...

When we pulled up to our campsite at Bagby Hot Springs I saw some voodoo on the ground. Looked a bit closer and it was a ☮️ sign! It was my mission to get a photo of the bus with it 🖤
“Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you; it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you. Hopefully, you leave something good behind.” — 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐲 𝐁𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐢𝐧

Whipped up this plant stand for Paula’s office. She designed it and we built it together ❤️. Made of reclaimed ash, cypress and 💜. I love how it turned out!
I use this spot just like my old front porch. It’s my “thinking, coffee drinking/smoking, talking on the phone... spot. I have my mini garden right next to me (I love tinkering in my garden) and a perfect spot for my cup!
It’s perfect except it can be little stinky sometimes and I’m totally in the bus exit.... BUT I can see out the window on cold days or open it up and be almost outside, the cat and dog will chill with me here, and it’s just become “mom’s spot”. @justbeingdad_ has been making upgrades to my little spot 🥰😍and as much as I love the white beadboard... I know that wouldn’t last.
Pretty excited for this custom architectural ceiling we are putting in the @theflowstatebus
I’ve had this idea in my head for almost 2 years! The ceiling has a main barrel that will have lighting down the center and the half barrels on either side overlap to create a hidden light cove that will downlight the side barrels.
We will soon be offering this ceiling system as a kit with different profiles. But this one will always be one off.
Covering our insulated subfloor in plywood! Workin’ late because that’s the only time we have to work these days. It’s chilly inside the bus but not for long!

This is not the best photo but means so much to us! This was our first night in the #skoolie . I (Maria) cried when we clean up the bus and was ready to be functional. I said - I can't believe this is our home 🥰 -. Took time, research, a ton of videos, countless trips to #homedepot , #lowes , #walmart and piles of Amazon boxes. And after 2+ months we were finally ready to start our journey!
