𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬, 𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞. 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐲, 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞.🌟
This is what Christmas is supposed to feel like. What is your favorite nonmaterial thing that makes you feel connected during this season? A very happy holidays, from the LUCKY bus. ❤️
PS...do you want to see the inside?
𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐆𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠...
I feel something stirring inside me. I have no idea what any of it means, what this life of mine means. I'm desperate to connect with this world, with you. I'm craving authenticity, rawness, wildness, healing, understanding. I just want to make sense of the chaos, and play with it all.
So, here is one of the scariest and most vulnerable things I've ever decided. 𝐈𝐦 𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤. 📖 I'm afraid it sounds pretentious or self centered, but I need to let this out. For me, for the sake of healing. I thought I'd share with you all, so in times of insecurity I'll look back at this post and hold myself accountable. 𝘐 𝘩𝘰𝘱𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘷𝘶𝘭𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘮𝘦.
Yes, it’s approaching! And with the event being so close, we thought we would clarify a few things.
Where? Ehrenburg, AZ (coordinates will be posted a few weeks before)
When? January 20th - 27th
Will there be skoolie tours? Yes, and no. It’s up to the individual owners. Some may let people mingle through there homes and others may be out mingling themselves. It’s very informal.
Do we have to have a bus? Bring a bus? No! This is for skoolie enthusiasts of all kinds!
Are there hookups? No. This is BLM land but within a 5 mile drive there is laundry, coin showers, fill and dump and decent grocery shopping.
What’s is like? It’s fun! Day time tends to consist of making new friends or visiting old ones. There’s a ton of hiking and geode hunting in the area. Go with a group or wander by yourself. Nights usually have a community fire with music, cooking and entertainment. That being said, it’s no big deal to lock your doors and take some quiet time!
Who will be there? Ahhh... no one knows! Show up and find out! Last year there was around 120 buses and it’s expected to be bigger this year!
Any questions we didn’t answer?
Edited to add. We will be posting ideas to stories make the event as fun as possible. Please check back to pinned stories regularly to see what’s there. Your involvement is what makes this event so much fun!
Decorating for Christmas and totally loving the vibe in here✨🌟 still have a little bit more to add, and we plan to get a small tree to put on the far right side of the counter, but it’s a work in progress! Maybe by Christmas I’ll be finished😂 I just love the month of December! So many fun events, family time, holiday parties.....and we also have some super exciting things to announce this month🥳
The bus plan! We are going to start taping out the layout tomorrow and framing soon. Once we get the basic framing on the ground we want to throw our floors in to protect our subfloors from any spills, leaks, etc. it will be covered with thick paper stuff that I cannot remember the name of until the build is done I protect our laminate flooring from scratches or anything. We still want it to look new when we move in! Swipe to the last photo to see the laminate floors we are planning on!

Well after three weeks of non stop raining on our days off we’re finally able to paint the bus tomorrow! We’re only going to be able to prime it because of course it’s soposed to rain Monday, but we’ll take what we can get in this season. Me and case got it all taped up after work tonight so we’re ready! Couldn’t be more excited to finally get another step finished .
This is the solar panel combined box we have chosen. It was super easy to install and wire up. Looks pro too!😁

Not much has been going on with the bus in the last month as funds have dried up and our family day care lady has taken a holiday overseas to see her family. This means I’m pretty much full time with the young bloke and sneaking in my carpentry work when the sister in law has Ryder. But there’s good news! (que Futurama reference) Our little Subaru finally sold and that’s 100% bus money. First thing is a damn AC and a Genset to be fitted to the bus and make these 40C+ (104f) more bearable. I swear it’s 20 degrees hotter in the bus. Also Detroit Dave has finished his work on the motor and there is just some tidying up for me to do and fitting of coolant pipes (stay tuned for more pictures). Bring on some holiday time and 2020. Heaps of bus building action coming at you 💪
Please, please don't light your bus on fire! And as an additional side note, spray foam is definitely not the easiest stuff to work with... Cover yourself in a full bodysuit... Including hair... That stuff does not come out of anything (I know from experience unfortunately 😂). ⠀
Full tour went live this morning, so head to our stories and swipe up or head to the link in our bio.⠀

What's your holiday decorating style? Keeping it minimal or going all out this year?
Living 8 days in the Workshop was a tough one but we were truly lucky to end up at Kostas place. .
I learned a lot from him and when I wasn’t working on my Bus, I helped him out in the Workshop. There are 4 Generations living and working together. Something you don’t see very often these days.
Starting up our engine after 8 days was a great feeling and it feels so good to be back on the Road again. .

So much foam, lots of glue, and a little bit of fumes. We realized shortly after we started glueing insulation in that this is no kids safe glue. Good thing our bodies give us warning signs like headaches to tell us to protect ourselves. #protectionmatters#ppe
Also, this mr. buddy heater has been a life saver while building a bus in the winter! It’s only in use a third of the time since we have windows open letting any heat out while gluing anything, but when it’s on it’s awesome!
Also, if you saw the tums in the third photo it’s because I have a weird stomach issue that started up again that doctors couldn’t figure out before so every time I eat I get insane stomach and back pain so the runs make it a bit more bearable... not looking forward to all of the upcoming doctor visits...
State of the bus report: plumbing is complete, washer/dryer are hooked up, and electrical work is 95% done. Ongoing projects: finishing shower stall and building back wall. Big to dos: remove and skin over a few of the back windows w 18 ga steel, install interior roof, hook up propane water heater, and install moar cabinetry.
This thing is amazing! I was having a hard time with the score and snap tile cutter ... so hubby bought me this!! I got all the tiles cut for the tire well! It's the weekend so it's break time but I should have a shower tiled by next week!
We are still living in the house, our humans were just about to put the house on the market then our dad was in a really ruff motorcycle accident. He’s healing but can’t play bally with us yet, hopefully in a few months he can!
We still plan to embark on our bus adventure just not until late 2020. Until then, we hope for a lot of snow this winter to play in! You will see snow pictures when it does 😁❄️⚽️

Contemplating life or waiting for that fresh batch of wild rice vegetable soup to be ready? Happy Friday to our Instagram family! Sorry we have not been around as much these past couple of weeks. I think we have just been enjoying this space we are in now and remembering to be more present during our day. This world of social media has a tendency to creep in and take up a lot of valuable time and we want to find a healthier balance between us and these electronic devices. ✌️Anyone else feel like this sometimes?

Sometimes it’s the simple trips that turn out to be the best.
Anza Borrego was a really quick and easy journey from our home in San Diego. Luckily it was cool this time of year so we didn’t need A/C! The hikes were great, the night skies were awesome, and there were plenty of free places to park!
These are some of the most beautiful DIY countertops I've seen yet. Excellent job you guys!!! They said they aren't artistic at all, though obviously they're handy since they built out a bus, but this is lightweight, inexpensive and durable... Perfect for any tiny house build. What do you think?⠀
Full tour goes live Saturday.⠀
