When we traveled 🛫to Seville we noticed how proud the Sevillanos were of their city. A Smile would always come to their face when they spoke about their beautiful city 😃 But one thing that stood out for us is how The Giralda has become a symbol that represents the people of Sevilla ⛪ It was the tallest building in the city for over 800 years, dominating the skyline at 103 meters (329 feet). It was originally built by the Muslims in 1195 as the minaret of the Aljama mosque 🕌 however it is now the bell tower of the cathedral. The reason why they are so proud of it, its because when they leave and come back home, the minute they see the Giralda from miles away, they know they have arrived home. The best thing is that it only cost us 3 euro 💰😱to get in with our student discount (regular price is 8 euro) AND it also includes the cathedral's entrance...

P.S: Make sure you go 20-30 min before they open, it will save you making a huge line (Don't buy the tours that they sell at the entrance which claim they will get you in faster - its not worthy, save your money and just wait like 10 more min)...

This weekend has been phenomenal with a capital P. No it didn’t turn out exactly how I had originally planned it but what I received in return was far greater!
I do believe coincidences are God’s plans in hindsight. You may have the agenda planned out completely but he will guide you on the path you should be on.
I was able to work on both my passions: international affairs and travel blogging, I also discovered my new home here.

The human who shared her world with me during my trip to Spain. Travel is ALWAYS a teaching experience for me. And often, the lessons come from the people, sometimes from the land. I learned from Aurelie the importance of building a home, how a wandering soul can live contently in one place for a while, and also the power of community (she has the sweetest flow of people who are such an integral part of her life in Spain).

I also learned, that if ever there was a time for me to stop glorifying solo travel it would be when I’m trying to face a major fear like doing the Caminito Del Rey 😬 it was so much better being with a friend, with her particularly, being her good measure on encouraging and laughing which did make me think okay maybe it’s not so bad. When I think about some parts of that trail 🤢 I don’t think I could have done it alone.
