1875. “Watrous House.” Do you see the body of water behind this sweet Second Empire home? That’s the Connecticut River, literally in their backyard! So beautiful ✨ I’m also in love with that purple door!
Here’s another eclectic shingle style home in Park Hill, Yonkers. I love the huge gambrel roof and whimsical collection of windows. I’m curious about the symbol on the chimney ... it looks like a torch but I don’t know what the meaning is. Any ideas?
Shout out to this doggo who’s been the goodest of girls these past few days as the house is covered in glitter, garland and all my winter glam ✨🎄 While the cats may be my favorite Halloween accessory, Lola is no doubt my favorite Christmas ornament 🌟
Just a #TB to last years Christmas decs in the dining part of the kitchen because I don’t think there’s gonna be anything that’s as much effort as this was last year 😝 amazing what you can do with some foraged greenery, a disco ball and a patient friend @shirsato ❤️
Still can’t believe we managed to make this corner of the house so festive when the rest was still a chaotic bombsite ☺️ was a good distraction ploy for guests 😂
As the common cold is doing the December rounds it seems a fitting time to shine a light on this.........Garlisol!
Mummy dared us to open the bathroom cupboard before the builders ripped everything out and this was the tastiest treat behind the door. A quick Google reveals it's brilliant for chest coughs and clearing catarrh (🤢). Sadly the makers of Garlisol ceased trading in 1985 yet panic not! I have salvaged the jar. DM me if you'd like a fingerful.
Lovely delivery from @nancyandbetty - it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas 🎶 🎅
These Christmas crackers are designed and handmade with love in @nancyandbetty workshop in England and eco friendly too. Goods are printed with vegetable based inks on sustainable paper stock, no plastic either.
In the early part of 1840 a confectioner started selling sweets wrapped as love tokens. One day while watching a crackling fire he had the idea of putting a friction snap into the crackers. Before long they became very popular at parties with the addition of hats and a small range of gifts. Today almost every household in Britain will celebrate Christmas with a box of crackers that are filled with festive jokes and unique gifts.

Some internal shots today. We need a downstairs loo and also wanted to be able to see through to the kitchen & garden when you come through the front door, so we've centralised the kitchen door (door was down two steps and then around to the left). We have lovely high ceilings so I asked the builders to make the opening to the kitchen as high as possible. Plan is to have a pocket door here to keep it out of the way, which will mostly be open anyway. The downstairs loo will be on the left where the door to on the kitchen was and this is also where the new stack has been moved internally to....will dig out the plans to explain. And after the internal works Sam got going again on building up the outside the wall. He also had to block the top window on the French doors where the side return to make way for the glass roof - was a bit sad to loose this but for what we will gain with the glass roof it will be so worth it....Loving the new dust door which separates the building from us - in theory but with no ceiling and just wooden floors, holes up to the bathroom from plumbing work we're pretty close to the building below upstairs at times.
Laying on a daybed during the day just feels right! ☺️ This is the other side of my guest bedroom & that daybed is so ridiculously comfy.
With our main bedroom out of action- it’s currently our temporary kitchen- it’s dead handy to have this room all sorted for when we have overnight visitors & for when I fancy a lay down & cant make it up to the loft! 😁
Do you ever ‘finish’ when you do a house renovation? 🙈 Our bedroom still had open rails for our clothes until early last week and made our room feel so messy even when it was tidy. To give a sleek finish and make the most of the space we had built in wardrobes made by the talented @rminteriors.co.uk I’d seen all the incredible work he’d done for my interior designer friend @strumaninteriordesign and knew he’d do an amazing job. We absolutely love them, our room suddenly feels so serene (apart from the baby bouncer and selection of toys Sophie brings to us in the morning!) and I even persuaded the husband that I could fill all the draws with my clothes 🙌 #bmbprojecthome#bedroominspo#interiordesign
A Forever Christmas with Tasha Tudor! ⠀⠀
If you're following my blog, you know I'm spending the month of December sharing all of my old fashioned handmade gifts, traditions and homemade crafts. I've been doing many of the things that our dear Tasha used to since I was a young lady, even before I had my children, and I share those on ye olde blog.
Living an old-fashioned Victorian Christmas is a happy time!
P.S. If you have Amazon Prime Tasha’s DVD ”Take Peace A Corgi Cottage Christmas” is now free to watch/stream. Take Heaven!
Finally went through all my pics from this year’s Lyndhurst decor 🎄📸 So many amazing photos, it’s hard to choose only a few to share because I really just want to bombard the ‘gram with all that is Gilded, gold, glittery and of course, Christmasy...but I’ll practice restraint💁🏻♀️This tree is exactly what I’d do for this room - perfect way to complement tree to room design. The decor in the library is very traditional, and the splash of plaid ribbon adds to the masculine vibe of the room while still making it beautiful. I love that the red, green and gold of the tree perfectly matches it’s corresponding gothic stained glass window too🌟♥️🎄This decor also has a definite Home Alone house feel to it - which I think we can all agree is #dreamhouse#christmasgoals . Bravo, @lyndhurst_mansion 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Finally found something inside one of my walls! It was where I removed the wall wile conjoining a small room with my master BR.. no clue how it got there as there is no access whatsoever.. possibly an animal took it there.. it appears to be a dolls dress. Day 5 - checking it twice... the colour for this bedroom was quite a decision! It’s only small so we wanted an easy colour palette but also a statement 🎨 In the end it was #hagueblue and #pinkground@farrowandball 😍
The final internal wall is down!! Exciting to be at home in the daylight to get the first photo. It’s amazing to be able to truly feel how big the space is going to be now! Swipe for where the internal walls were before. •

This week for #Workshopwednesday the workshop has been turned into a building site.
We are currently in the process of expanding our office space and adding new facilities to the workshop. To continue to grow and develop as a company our premises must grow with us.
We hope to have this project finished by the end of the year so we can hit the ground running in 2020.

This is a mood board brought you by @lindseypearcedesign . A mood board is an arrangement of images, textures and ideas to help illustrate a design concept.
The mood board features earthy green and neutral tones, this became the main colour palette for the finished project. The patterned textures shown in this picture were used as inspiration for the soft furnishing for the room.
The waterfall and other natural scenes show the type of environment and atmosphere that will be accomplished through this design.
