I’m very excited with my progress over the past few weeks. I haven’t had any pain in my wrist and I feel like it’s allowing me to focus more on my movement. Also without anticipation of pain I feel like I can really drive the bar without hesitation. This workout definitely felt like a bit of a milestone and I’m feeling very ready for my meet in Rome!

This is such a good movement for teaching proper positioning off of the ground and it really challenges the posterior. It’s a great variation and one of my favorites.

  • I’ve been in the mindset of ‘enjoy life and deal with the consequences later’ ⁣
I’ve eaten what I want, drank what I want & trained when I want. ⁣

The last week it’s been a struggle, not gonna lie. ⁣
I’ve noticed the smallest changes in my body and I’ve found that hard to deal with, although outsiders would probably say I look no different. I’ve been watching what I eat more during the day and I’ve found myself restricting my food if I indulged the night before. ⁣I used to train 7 days a week, recently I’ve been doing 5 days or less, which is a big deal to me because training is my therapy. ⁣
I realise this isn’t a good mindset to be in & I'm slowly getting myself out of it, but it takes time. ⁣
I know my triggers and I know how to deal with them, but sometimes it’s a slow process.⁣
The main thing I keep reminding myself of is how happy I am at the moment and I don’t want that to change. It’s just finding a happy medium 🤷🏻‍♀️ ⁣

Don’t really know where I’m going with this waffle, but just remember to be happy because life is short so enjoy yourself ☺️

Front squats 7 x 5 115kg/254lbs
after almost a month of no shoulder work (& weeks of feeling like Humpty Dumpty), today was the first day I was able to front rack a barbell with no pain whoop whoop!! HUGE thank you to @whole_in_one_pt for sticking a bunch of needles in my shoulder and helping me through this recovery process. Little steps in the right direction are helping me get to where I want to be. I’m hungry as ever and I am confident that the best is yet to come 🌟

Did my *allowed* 15 minutes on the treadmill and a bit of arms... nothing like properly training but gets the blood moving. Probably did a bit too much walking around Exeter today but we life and learn 🥴

  • Overhead work has always been really challenging for me. In middle school I had a shoulder injury which put me in PT for an extended period of time. In college I eventually had surgery and unfortunately years of long lasting pain. I have been pressing more volume than ever, heavier than ever, and my shoulder feels better than ever.

I did not pass my SFG2 back in Sept because I wasn’t able to press the 24kg bell. Honestly, it was the best thing that has happened to me athletically in a long time. I got a TON of feedback& coaching at the event and have been working with @ieatkettlebells to help me accomplish my goal.

  • #facetofacefriday When I show people pictures of “old” me, they can’t believe it. I can’t either sometimes! I tried EVERYTHING, every shake, pill, detox water, shots, if there was a quick fix, I tried it. 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻Only when I “gave in” and tried the old nutrition and exercise plan did I see changes. Little changes add up to BIG CHANGES. It wasn’t easy, it wasn’t quick, but I discovered so much about myself. I realized that I had much more courage, drive, determination and strength that I thought I had. I know it’s HARD, start small, make 1 small change this week. It’s not always about the changes in the mirror, but how you feel, sleep and live.‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️If you told me that I would be where I am today when I started, I would not have believed you.✅✅✅✅✅ I am not perfect, I miss #workouts and have #cheatmeals but I work to make myself better than I was yesterday.   • First time ever trying an Olympic lift and she's already got a better bar path than me 😫 whatever that was at the end though has GOT to go...this isn't a twirling routine. I hit my first 1 rep PR’s here ending one day finally with one ugly 315 Rep. I’ve been to a lot of gyms in the last few years and hit even more PR’s.   • 2019 is coming to a close which is a big deal because it’s not just the end of a year, but the end of a DECADE. 🤯 now is the perfect time to change your mindset and change your life. Think about how much you’ve changed and learned in the past 10 years. Now with the right mindset and focus, you can double that progress during the next 10 years. Work harder. Don’t listen to the outside noise. Have fun. Treat people how you want to be treated. Focus on being 1% better at whatever it is you do every single day. Anyways that’s just my motivational tid bit on this Friday. If you’re still reading I’ll talk about my hamstring focused leg day today. I moved 405 for a top set of 4 on RDLs which is crazy for me. Worked up to 255 for a set of 5 on front squats. (I think they were pretty as well🤩) I also did a BUNCH of lighter RDL movements, hamstring curls, and calves. Riding the bike for my 20 minutes as I type this. Let’s head into 2020 on the right note. 😎
