Just over a year ago a few friends and I met up, most of us for the first time, and decided to go on a hike through the desert. We hiked for a few hours with no trail and over 90 degree temps. I’ll never forget the relief we felt when we finally made it to this view. After passing out on the rocks for an hour or so, we set up camp and prepared ourselves for a very hot and windy night. The next morning we got up bright and early, waited for the sun to rise and began the hike out. We hiked for a few hours in the heat with little or no water. What a trip to remember. 🌵
Sunset over one of my very favorite desert valleys. ✨
PS. No good self-portrait session is complete without a few outtakes. Swipe to see two of my favorites. THIS is the reason we have to take 200+ photos to get one acceptable shot.
Just a week and a half until Leavenworth's annual Christkindlmarkt! Skip the downtown crowds and shop local at the town's annual Bavarian-style Christmas Market. Trust us, you won't miss the mall! Click the link in our bio for more info on our day trips ✨ (Photo by: @timid.traveler)
About one year ago today I bought my camera and hit the ground running, so here’s a throwback of when I learned how to edit featuring Kirkufell Mountain.
Big thanks to everybody who has stuck around over the last year. Your support in this new venture for me means the world. It’s really easy to feel like Michael Jordan playing minor league baseball switching from something that I devoted my entire life to, and was pretty good at (music), into something that I never understood and have to work really hard to see improvement at like photography. I am however, really good at run on sentences.
Back from our mini vaca in Arizona🌵feeling refreshed after a non-stop, fun adventure in Scottsdale and Sedona🏜✨Now impatiently waiting for my film to come back so I can share with you! 📷 @amandasomervillephoto at one of my favorite spots in Charlotte @optimisthallclt
Every road you travel down is an opportunity to learn and grow. Searching for moments that bring a smile to your face are sometimes the sweetest. If you’re lucky enough you might even capture these memories in everlasting photographs. The end of the road can be unexpected but as long as it leads me to a truck full of Golden Retrievers you will always see a smile on my face
there was actually no good reason for me to hike up to the wudangzhao monastery instead of taking the shuttle. it was rainy and i didn’t have an umbrella and there were quite a lot of stairs.
also i probably shouldn’t have ducked under the yellow tape that fenced off a crumbling trail and climbed the extra 15 minutes to a higher peak, totally out of breath by the time i reached.
nobody else was doing it. ...though come to think of it, i suppose that might be the best reason to do something when you’re traveling.
Yesterday, we crossed into Arkansas, packed our backpacks, and hiked out to Hawksbill Crag for the night. Our tortellini dinner & this morning’s sunrise made it a great little overnighter. ☺︎

I’ve been neglecting my photography recently. Traded hunting the streets for pounding the fields in a marsh in pursuit of new knowledge. I need to get back behind the lens. I’m considering combining my new passion with my steadfast skill set. Who would like to see photographs from the field?
Well... I don’t like a cold weather but new boots from @stuartweitzman make me feel happy to walk about the city! ✨
寒い天気は苦手なんだけど、新しい #スチュアートワイツマン のニーハイブーツを履ける季節がやってきたのはウキウキ✨
